Short Duas of Sayeda Fatima (sa) at different times and purposes

الهى وَ سَيِّدَى سَمَّيْتَنِي فَاطِمَةَ، وَ فَطَمْتَ بِي مَنْ تَوَلاني وَ تَوَلَّى ذُرِّيَّتِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ، وَ أَنْتَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الميعاد

Ilaahee wa sayyidee sammaytanee faatimah, wa fatamta bee man tawallaanee, wa tawallaa dhurriyyatee minan-naar, wa wa'dukal-haqq, wa anta laa tukhliful-mee'aad.

My God and my master You have named me Fatima (the safeguarded one) And You have safeguarded through me those who love me and my progeny, from the fire Your promise is true and You do not break Your promises

قَدْ أَتَمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ

Qad atamma ni'matah,

Indeed, His blessings have been completed,

وَ هَنَّانِي كَرَامَتَهُ

wa hanna-anee karaamatah,

and His generosity has delighted me,

وَ أَبَاحَنِي جَنَّتَهُ

wa abaahanee jannatah,

and His Paradise is permitted for me.

أَسْأَلُهُ وُلْدِي وَ ذُرِّيَّتِي وَ مَنْ وَدَّهُمْ

as-aluhu wuldee wa dhurriyyatee wa man waddahum,

I ask Him for my children, my progeny, and those who love them.

قَدْ أَتَمَّ عَلَيَّ نِعْمَتَهُ

qad atamma 'alayya ni'matah,

Indeed, His blessings have been completed upon me,

وَ أَبَاحَنِي جَنَّتَهُ

wa abaahanee jannatah,

and His Paradise is permitted for me,

وَ هَنَّانِي كَرَامَتَهُ

wa hanna-anee karaamatah,

and His generosity has delighted me,

وَ فَضَّلَنِي عَلَى نِسَاءِ خَلْقِهِ

wa faddalanee 'alaa nisaa-i khalqih,

and He has given me excellence over the women of His creation.

أَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يُشَفِّعَنِي فِي وُلْدِي وَ ذُرِّيَّتِي

as-aluhu an yushaffi'anee fee wuldee wa dhurriyyatee,

I ask Him to allow me to intercede for my children and my progeny,

وَ مَنْ وَدَّهُمْ بَعْدِي وَ حَفِظَهُمْ بَعْدِي

wa man waddahum ba'dee wa hafizahum ba'dee,

and those who loved them after me and protected them after me.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ

al-hamdu lillaahil-ladhee adh-haba 'annal-hazan,

All praise is for Allah, Who has removed sorrow from us,

وَ أَقَرَّ عَيْنِي

wa aqarra 'aynee.

and delighted my eye.

يَا رَبَّ أَرِنِي الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ يَا رَبِّ شیعتی يَا رَبِّ شِيعَةَ وُلْدى يَا رَبِّ شيعة شيعتي

Yaa rabba ariniyal-hasana wal-husayn, yaa rabbi shee'atee, yaa rabbi shee'ata wuldee, yaa rabbi shee'ata shee'atee.

O Lord show me Hasan and Husayn O Lord, my Shiahs (followers) [forgive them] O Lord, the followers of my children O Lord the followers of my followers

يَا رَبِّ حَاجَتِي أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَ لِمَنْ نَصَرَ وُلْدى

Yaa rabbi haajatee, an taghfira lee, wa liman nasara wuldee

My Lord, my wish is that you forgive me and forgive those who helped my children

إِلٰهِي وَ سَيِّدِي

ilaahee wa sayyidee

My God and my Master,

احْكُمْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ مَنْ ظَلَمَنِي

ihkum baynee wa bayna man zalamanee

judge between me and those who have oppressed me.

اللَّهُمَّ احْكُمْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ مَنْ قَتَلَ وَلَدِي

allaahummah-kum baynee wa bayna man qatala waladee

O Allah, judge between me and the one who killed my son.

إِلٰهِي وَ سَيِّدِي

ilaahee wa sayyidee

My God and my Master,

ذُرِّيَّتِي وَ شِيعَتِي

dhurriyyatee wa shee'atee

my progeny and my Shiahs [forgive them],

وَ شِيعَةَ ذُرِّيَّتِي

wa shee'ata dhurriyyatee

and the Shiahs of my progeny,

وَ مُحِبِّيَّ وَ مُحِبِّي ذُرِّيَّتِي

wa muhibbiyya wa muhibbee dhurriyyatee

and those who love me and love my progeny.

أَنْتَ الْجَبَّارُ الْعَدْلُ

anta al-jabbaaru al-'adl

You are the Mighty, the Just,

اقْضِ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ مَنْ قَتَلَ وَلَدِي

iqdi baynee wa bayna man qatala waladee

judge between me and the one who killed my son.

اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْنِي فِي مَنْ بَكَى عَلَى مُصِيبَتِهِ

allaahumma shaffi'nee fee man bakaa 'alaa museebatih

O Allah, allow me to intercede for whoever wept over his tragedy.

يَا رَبِّ هٰذَا قَمِيصُ وَلَدِي

yaa rabbi haadhaa qameesu waladee

O my Lord, this is my son's shirt,

وَ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا صُنِعَ بِهِ

wa qad 'alimta maa suni'a bih

and You indeed know what was done to him.

يَا رَبِّ انْتَصِرْ لِي مِنْ قَاتِلِهِ

yaa rabbintasir lee min qaatilih

O my Lord, avenge me against his killer.

Arabic

yaa 'adl

O the Just,

يَا عَدْلُ

ihkum baynee wa bayna qaatili waladee

judge between me and the killer of my son.

احْكُمْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ قَاتِلِ وَلَدِي

yaa 'adl

O the Just,

يَا عَدْلُ

yaa jabbaaru

O the Compeller,

يَا جَبَّارُ

ihkum baynee wa bayna qaatili waladee

judge between me and the killer of my son.

احْكُمْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ قَاتِلِ وَلَدِي

yaa hakam

O the Arbitrator,

يَا حَكَمُ

ihkum baynee wa bayna qaatili waladee

judge between me and the killer of my son.

احْكُمْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ قَاتِلِ وَلَدِي

دُعَاؤُهَا فِي الْقِيَامَةِ لِعِرْفَانِ حَقِّهَا

du'aa'uhaa feel-qiyaamati li-'irfaani haqqihaa

Her supplication on the Day of Resurrection for the recognition of her right:

يَا رَبِّ

yaa rabbi

O my Lord,

أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ يُعْرَفَ قَدْرِي

ahbabtu an yu'rafa qadree

I desire that my worth be recognized

فِي هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ

fee haadhal-yawm

on this day.

إِلٰهِي

ilaahee

My God,

هٰذَا ضَمَانُ شَفَاعَةِ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ

haadhaa damaanu shafaa'ati ummati muhammad

this is the pledge for the intercession of the nation of Muhammad,

صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ

sallal-laahu 'alayhi wa aalih

blessings of Allah be upon him and his family.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ

al-hamdu lil-laahil-ladhee adh-haba 'annal-hazan

All praise is for Allah who has removed sorrow from us;

إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ

inna rabbanaa laghafoorun shakoor

surely our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative.

الَّذِي أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ الْمُقَامَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ

alladhee ahallanaa daaral-muqaamati min fadlih

Who has settled us in the everlasting abode by His grace;

لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ

laa yamassunaa feehaa nasab

no toil touches us therein,

وَ لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ

wa laa yamassunaa feehaa lughoob

nor does any fatigue touch us therein.

إِلٰهِي أَنْتَ الْمُنَى وَ فَوْقَ الْمُنَى

ilaahee antal-munaa wa fawqal-munaa

My God, You are the ultimate hope and beyond all hopes;

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ لَا تُعَذِّبَ مُحِبِّيَّ

as-aluka an laa tu'adh-dhiba muhibbiyya

I ask You not to punish with the Fire

وَ مُحِبِّي عِتْرَتِي بِالنَّارِ

wa muhibbee 'itratee bin-naar

those who love me

and those who love my progeny.

إِلٰهِي وَ سَيِّدِي

ilaahee wa sayyidee

My God and my Master,

هٰذَا مُحَمَّدٌ نَبِيُّكَ

haadhaa muhammadun nabiyyuk

this is Muhammad, Your Prophet,

وَ هٰذَا عَلِيٌّ ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكَ

wa haadhaa 'aliyyub-nu 'ammi nabiyyik

and this is Ali, the cousin of Your Prophet,

وَ هٰذَانِ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ سِبْطَا نَبِيِّكَ

wa haadhaanil-hasanu wal-husaynu sibtaa nabiyyik

and these are al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the two grandsons of Your Prophet.

إِلٰهِي أَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَائِدَةً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ

ilaahee anzil 'alaynaa maa'idatam-minas-samaa'

My God, send down upon us a feast from the sky,

كَمَا أَنْزَلْتَهَا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

kamaa anzaltahaa 'alaa banees-raa'eel

just as You sent it down upon the Children of Israel;

أَكَلُوا مِنْهَا وَ كَفَرُوا بِهَا

akaloo minhaa wa kafaroo bihaa

they ate from it and disbelieved in it.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْزِلْهَا عَلَيْنَا فَإِنَّا بِكَ مُؤْمِنُونَ

allaahumma anzilhaa 'alaynaa fa-innaa bika mu'minoon

O Allah, send it down upon us, for indeed we believe in You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ نَبِيِّكَ قَدْ أَضَرَّ بِهَا الْجُوعُ

allaahumma inna faatimata binta nabiyyika qad adarra bihal-joo'

O Allah, indeed Fatimah, the daughter of Your Prophet, hunger has harmed her,

وَ هٰذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكَ

wa haadhaa 'aliyyub-nu abee taalibnib-nu 'ammi nabiyyik

and this is Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin of Your Prophet,

قَدْ أَضَرَّ بِهِ الْجُوعُ

qad adarra bihil-joo'

hunger has harmed him.

فَأَنْزِلِ اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْنَا مَائِدَةً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ

fa-anzilil-laahumma 'alaynaa maa'idatam-minas-samaa'

So send down upon us, O Allah, a feast from the sky,

كَمَا أَنْزَلْتَهَا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

kamaa anzaltahaa 'alaa banees-raa'eel

just as You sent it down upon the Children of Israel;

فَكَفَرُوا وَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ

fa-kafaroo wa innaa mu'minoon

they disbelieved, while we are true believers.

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ

a'oodhu bil-laah

I seek refuge in Allah

مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ

min sakhatil-laah

from the anger of Allah

وَ سَخَطِ رَسُولِهِ

wa sakhati rasoolih

and the anger of His Messenger.

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ

qulil-laahumma maalikal-mulk

Say: O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty,

تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ

tu'til-mulka man tashaa'

You grant sovereignty to whom You will,

بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

bi-ghayri hisaab

without measure.

جَزَى اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدًا مَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ

jazal-laahu muhammadan maa huwa ahluh

May Allah reward Muhammad with what he is worthy of.

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ

yaa hayyu yaa qayyoom

O Ever Living, O [the] Eternal

بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ فَأَغِثْنِي

bi-rahmatika astagheethu fa-aghithnee

I seek help through Your mercy, so help me

اللَّهُمَّ زَحْزِحْنِي عَنِ النَّارِ

allaahumma zahzihnee 'anin-naar

O Allah, keep me away from the fire

وَ أَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ

wa adkhilnil-jannah

And make me enter Heaven

وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ

wa alhiqnee bi-abee muhammad

And join me with my father Muhammad

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ

sallal-laahu 'alayhi wa aalih

Blessings of Allah be on him and his family

إِلَيْكَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَى النَّارِ

ilayka rabbee, laa ilan-naar

Towards You, my Lord Not towards the fire

إِلٰهِي وَ سَيِّدِي

ilaahee wa sayyidee

My God and my Master

أَسْأَلُكَ بِالَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْتَهُمْ

as-aluka bil-ladheenastafaytahum

I ask You for the sake of those whom You have chosen

وَ بِبُكَاءِ وَلَدِي فِي مُفَارَقَتِي

wa bi-bukaa'i waladee fee mufaaraqatee

And for the sake of the weeping of my son at my separation

أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِعُصَاةِ شِيعَتِي

an taghfira li-'usaati shee'atee

That You forgive the sinners from my followers

وَ شِيعَةِ ذُرِّيَّتِي

wa shee'ati dhurriyyatee

And the followers of my progeny

يَا رَبِّ

yaa rabbi

My Lord,

إِنِّي قَدْ سَئِمْتُ الْحَيَاةَ

innee qad sa'imtul-hayaat

I am tired of life

وَ تَبَرَّمْتُ بِأَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا

wa tabarramtu bi-ahlid-dunyaa

And I am weary of the people of the world

فَأَلْحِقْنِي بِأَبِي

fa-alhiqnee bi-abee

So join me with my father

يَا إِلٰهِي

yaa ilaahee

My God,

عَجِّلْ وَفَاتِي سَرِيعًا

'ajjil wafaatee saree'an

hasten my death quickly

فَلَقَدْ تَنَغَّصَتِ الْحَيَاةُ

falaqad tanagh-ghasatil-hayaat

For life has become loathsome

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ

allaahumma innee as-aluka

O Allah, I ask You

بِمُحَمَّدٍ الْمُصْطَفَى وَ شَوْقِهِ إِلَيَّ

bi-muhammadinil-mustafaa wa shawqihee ilayy

for the sake of Muhammad al-Mustafa and his longing for me

وَ بِبَعْلِي عَلِيٍّ الْمُرْتَضَى وَ حُزْنِهِ عَلَيَّ

wa bi-ba'lee 'aliyyinil-murtadaa wa huznihee 'alayy

for the sake of my husband, Ali al-Murtadha and his grief for me

وَ بِالْحَسَنِ الْمُجْتَبَى وَ بُكَائِهِ عَلَيَّ

wa bil-hasanil-mujtabaa wa bukaa'ihee 'alayy

for the sake of Hasan al-Mujtaba and his weeping over me

وَ بِالْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيدِ وَ كَآبَتِهِ عَلَيَّ

wa bil-husaynish-shaheedi wa ka'aabatihee 'alayy

for the sake of Husayn al-Shaheed and his sadness over me

وَ بِبَنَاتِيَ الْفَاطِمِيَّاتِ وَ تَحَسُّرِهِنَّ عَلَيَّ

wa bi-banaatiyal-faatimiyyaati wa tahassurihinna 'alayy

for the sake of my daughters, the Fatimahs, and their sorrow over me

أَنْ تَرْحَمَ وَ تَغْفِرَ

an tarhama wa taghfira

that You have mercy and forgive

لِلْعُصَاةِ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ

lil-'usaati min ummati muhammad

the sinners of the Ummah of Muhammad

وَ تُدْخِلَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ

wa tudkhilahumul-jannah

and make them enter Heaven

إِنَّكَ أَكْرَمُ الْمَسْؤُولِينَ

innaka akramul-mas'ooleen

Surely You are the most Generous of those who are asked

وَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

wa arhamur-raahimeen

And the most Merciful

السَّلَامُ عَلَى جَبْرَائِيلَ

as-salaamu 'alaa jabraa'eel

Peace be on Jibraeel

السَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ

as-salaamu 'alaa rasoolil-laah

Peace be on the Messenger of Allah

اللَّهُمَّ مَعَ رَسُولِكَ

allaahumma ma'a rasoolik

O Allah [keep me] with Your Messenger

اللَّهُمَّ فِي رِضْوَانِكَ

allaahumma fee ridwaanik

O Allah [grant me] Your satisfaction,

وَ جِوَارِكَ

wa jiwaarik

and Your neighborhood,

وَ دَارِكَ دَارِ السَّلَامِ

wa daarika daaris-salaam

and Your abode, the abode of peace
