اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَبْلُغُ مَدْحَتَهُ الْقَائِلُوْنَ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee laa yablogho midhatahul qaaeloon
All praise is for Allah, Whose praise cannot be encompassed by speakers.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يُحْصِيْ نَعْمَاءَهُ الْعَادُّوْنَ
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee laa yohsee na’maa-ahul a’addoon
All praise is for Allah, Whose bounties cannot be counted by reckoners.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يُؤَدِّيْ حَقَّهُ الْمُجْتَهِدُوْنَ
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee laa yo-addee haqqahul mujtahedoon
All praise is for Allah, Whose due right cannot be fulfilled by strivers.
وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ الْاَوَّلُ وَ الْاٰخِرُ
wa laa elaaha illal laahul awwalo wal aakher
There is no god except Allah, the First and the Last.
وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ
wa laa elaaha illal laahuz zaahero wal baaten
There is no god except Allah, the Manifest and the Hidden.
وَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ الْمُحْيِيْ الْمُمِيْتُ
wa laa elaaha illal laahul mohyil momeet
There is no god except Allah, the Giver of life and the Causer of death.
وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ ذُوْ الطَّوْلِ
wal laaho akbaro zut tawl
Allah is the Greatest, Owner of abundant favor.
وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ ذُوْ الْبَقَاءِ الدَّائِمِ
wal laaho akbaro zul baqaa-id daa-em
Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of everlasting permanence.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يُدْرِكُ الْعَالِمُوْنَ عِلْمَهٗ
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee laa yudrekul a’alemoona i’lmah
All praise is for Allah, Whose knowledge cannot be grasped by the learned;
وَ لَا يَسْتَخِفُّ الْجَاهِلُوْنَ حِلْمَهٗ
wa laa yastakhifful jaaheloona hilmah
Whose forbearance cannot be taken lightly by the ignorant;
وَ لَا يَبْلُغُ الْمَادِحُوْنَ مِدْحَتَهٗ
wa laa yabloghul maadehoona midhatah
Whose extolling cannot be fully reached by the praisers;
وَ لَا يَصِفُ الْوَاصِفُوْنَ صِفَتَهٗ
wa laa yaseful waasefoona sefatah
Whose attribute cannot be defined by describers;
وَ لَا يُحْسِنُ الْخَلْقُ نَعْتَهٗ
wa laa yohsenul khalqo na’tah
and Whose description cannot be matched by all creation.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ ذِيْ الْمُلْكِ وَ الْمَلَكُوْتِ
wal hamdo lillaahe zil mulke wal malakoot
All praise is for Allah, Possessor of sovereignty and dominion,
وَ الْعَظَمَةِ وَ الْجَبَرُوْتِ وَ الْعِزِّ وَ الْكِبْرِيَاءِ
wal a’zamate wal jabaroote wal i’zze wal kibreyaa’
greatness, absolute power, honor, and supremacy,
وَ الْبَهَاءِ وَ الْجَلَالِ
wal bahaa-e wal jalaal
splendor and majesty,
وَ الْمَهَابَةِ وَ الْجَمَالِ
wal mahaabate wal jamaal
awe and beauty,
وَ الْعِزَّةِ وَ الْقُدْرَةِ وَ الْحَوْلِ وَ الْقُوَّةِ
wal i’zzate wal qudrate wal hawle wal quwwah
might, capacity, power, and strength,
وَ الْمِنَّةِ وَ الْغَلَبَةِ
wal minnate wal ghalabah
grace and triumph,
وَ الْفَضْلِ وَ الطَّوْلِ
wal fazle wat tawl
favor and benevolence,
وَ الْعَدْلِ وَ الْحَقِّ وَ الْخَلْقِ وَ الْعَلَاءِ
wal a’dle wal haqqe wal khalqe wal a’laa’
justice, truth, creation, and loftiness,
وَ الرِّفْعَةِ وَ الْمَجْدِ
war rif-a’te wal majd
elevation and glory,
وَ الْفَضِيْلَةِ وَ الْحِكْمَةِ
wal fazeelate wal hikmah
excellence and wisdom,
وَ الْغِنَاءِ وَ السَّعَةِ
wal ghenaa-e was sa-a’h
wealth and vastness,
وَ الْبَسْطِ وَ الْقَبْضِ
wal baste wal qabz
expansion and contraction,
وَ الْحِلْمِ وَ الْعِلْمِ
wal hilme wal i’lm
forbearance and knowledge,
وَ الْحُجَّةِ الْبَالِغَةِ وَ النِّعْمَةِ السَّابِغَةِ
wal hujjatil baaleghate wan ne’matis saabeghah
conclusive proof and abundant bounty,
وَ الثَّنَاءِ الْحَسَنِ الْجَمِيْلِ وَ الْاٰلَاءِ الْكَرِيْمَةِ
was sanaa-il hasanil jameele wal aalaa-il kareemah
beautiful, elegant praise, and noble favors;
مَلِكِ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَ الْجَنَّةِ وَ النَّارِ
malekid dunyaa wal aakherate wal jannate wan naar
Sovereign of this world, the Hereafter, Paradise, and Hell,
وَ مَا فِيْهِنَّ تَبَارَكَ اللهُ وَ تَعَالٰى
wa maa feehinna tabaarakal laaho wa ta-a’alaa
and all that is within them; blessed is Allah and Exalted.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ عَلِمَ اَسْرَارَ الْغُيُوْبِ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee a’lema asraaral ghoyoob
All praise is for Allah, Who knows the secrets of the unseen,
وَ اطَّلَعَ عَلٰى مَا تَجِنُّ الْقُلُوْبُ
wat tala-a’ a’laa maa tajinnul qoloob
and is aware of what is concealed within the hearts;
فَلَيْسَ عَنْهُ مَذْهَبٌ وَ لَا مَهْرَبٌ
falaysa a’nho mazhabun wa laa mahrab
so there is no escape nor retreat from Him.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الْمُتَكَبِّرِ فِيْ سُلْطَانِهِ
wal hamdo lillaahil motakabbere fee sultaanih
All praise is for Allah, the Supreme in His authority,
الْعَزِيْزِ فِيْ مَكَانِهِ
al-a’zeeze fee makaanih
the Mighty in His station,
الْمُتَجَبِّرِ فِيْ مُلْكِهِ
al-motajabbere fee mulkih
the Compelling in His dominion,
الْقَوِيِّ فِيْ بَطْشِهِ
al-qawiyye fee batsheeh
the Stern in His grip,
الرَّفِيْعِ فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ
ar-rafee-e’ fawqa a’rsheh
the Exalted above His Throne,
الْمُطَّلِعِ عَلٰى خَلْقِهٖ
al-mutta-le-e’ a’laa khalqeh
the Overseer of His creation,
وَ الْبَالِغِ لِمَا اَرَادَ مِنْ عِلْمِهٖ
wal baaleghe lemaa araada min i’lmeh
and the One Who executes whatever He wills by His knowledge.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ بِكَلِمَاتِهٖ قَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ الشِّدَادُ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee bekalemaatehi qaamatis samaawaatush shedaad
All praise is for Allah, by Whose words the firm heavens stood established,
وَ ثَبَتَتِ الْاَرَضُوْنَ الْمِهَادُ
wa sabatatil arazoonal mehaad
the smoothed earths became steady,
وَ انْتَصَبَتِ الْجِبَالُ الرَّوَاسِيْ الْاَوْتَادُ
wan tasabatil jebaalur rawaasil awtaad
the firm anchor-mountains were erected,
وَ جَرَتِ الرِّيَاحُ اللَّوَاقِحُ
wa jaratir reyaahul lawaaqeh
the pollinating winds blew,
وَ سَارَ فِيْ جَوِّ السَّمَاءِ السَّحَابُ
wa saara fee jawwis samaa-is sahaab
the clouds moved through the atmosphere of the sky,
وَ وَقَفَتْ عَلٰى حُدُوْدِهَا الْبِحَارُ
wa waqafat a’laa hodoodehal behaar
the seas halted at their set boundaries,
وَ وَجِلَتِ الْقُلُوْبُ مِنْ مَخَافَتِهٖ
wa wajelatil qoloobo min makhaafateh
hearts trembled in awe of Him,
وَ انْقَمَعَتِ الْاَرْبَابُ لِرُبُوْبِيَّتِهٖ
wan qa-ma-a’til arbaabo le-roboobiyyateh
and all false masters were subdued before His Lordship.
تَبَارَكْتَ يَا مُحْصِيْ قَطْرِ الْمَطَرِ وَ وَرَقِ الشَّجَرِ
tabaarakta yaa mohsee qatril matare wa waraqish shajar
Blessed are You, O Counter of raindrops and tree leaves,
وَ مُحْيِيْ اَجْسَادِ الْمَوْتٰى لِلْحَشْرِ
wa mohyee ajsaadil mawtaa lil-hashr
and Enlivener of the bodies of the dead for the gathering!
سُبْحَانَكَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ
subhaanaka yaa zal jalaale wal ikraam
Glory be to You, O Possessor of majesty and honor!
مَا فَعَلْتَ بِالْغَرِيْبِ الْفَقِيْرِ اِذَا اَتَاكَ مُسْتَجِيْرًا مُسْتَغِيْثًا؟
maa fa-a’lta bil-ghareebil faqeere ezaa ataaka mustajeeran mustagheesaa?
What will You do with the poor stranger when he comes seeking Your protection and crying for help?
مَا فَعَلْتَ بِمَنْ اَنَاخَ بِفِنَائِكَ
maa fa-a’lta beman anaakha be-fenaa-ek
What will You do with the one who alights at Your courtyard,
وَ تَعَرَّضَ لِرِضَاكَ وَ غَدَا اِلَيْكَ
wa ta-a’rraza le-rezaaka wa ghadaa elayk
exposes himself to Your pleasure, journeys early to You,
فَجَثَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
fajasaa bayna yadayk
kneels down before You,
يَشْكُوْ اِلَيْكَ مَا لَا يَخْفٰى عَلَيْكَ؟
yashkoo elayka maa laa yakhfaa a’layk?
and complains to You of that which is not hidden from You?
فَلَا يَكُوْنَنَّ يَا رَبِّ حَظِّيْ مِنْ دُعَائِيْ الْحِرْمَانُ
falaa yakoonanna yaa rabbe hazzee min do-a’a-il hirmaan
Let not my portion of my prayer, O Lord, be deprivation,
وَ لَا نَصِيْبِيْ مِمَّا اَرْجُوْ مِنْكَ الْخِذْلَانُ
wa laa naseebee mimmaa arjoo minkal khizlaan
nor my share of what I hope from You be abandonment.
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَزَلْ وَ لَا يَزُوْلُ
yaa man lam yazal wa laa yazool
O One Who has never ceased to be and will never cease,
كَمَا لَمْ يَزَلْ قَائِمًا عَلٰى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ
kamaa lam yazal qaa-eman a’laa kulle nafsin bemaa kasabat
just as He has eternally stood watch over every soul according to what it earned.
يَا مَنْ جَعَلَ اَيَّامَ الدُّنْيَا تَزُوْلُ
yaa man ja-a’la ayyaamad dunyaa tazool
O One Who made the days of the world pass away,
وَ شُهُوْرَهَا تَحُوْلُ
wa shohoorahaa tahool
its months turn,
وَ سِنِيَّهَا تَدُوْرُ
wa seniyyahaa tadoor
and its years rotate;
وَ اَنْتَ الدَّائِمُ لَا تُبْلِيْكَ الْاَزْمَانُ
wa antad daa-emo laa tubleekal azmaan
while You are the Eternal Whom times cannot wear down,
وَ لَا تُغَيِّرُكَ الدُّهُوْرُ
wa laa toghayyerokad dohoor
nor passing ages alter.
يَا مَنْ كُلُّ يَوْمٍ عِنْدَهٗ جَدِيْدٌ
yaa man kullo yawmin i’ndahu jadeed
O One for Whom every day is new,
وَ كُلُّ رِزْقٍ عِنْدَهٗ عَتِيْدٌ
wa kullo rizqin i’ndahu a’teed
and with Whom every sustenance is prepared and ready
لِلضَّعِيْفِ وَ الْقَوِيِّ وَ الشَّدِيْدِ
liz-za-e’efe wal qawiyye wash shadeed
for the weak, the strong, and the powerful.
قَسَّمْتَ الْاَرْزَاقَ بَيْنَ الْخَلَائِقِ
qassamtal arzaaqa baynal khalaa-eq
You distributed sustenance among creation,
فَسَوَّيْتَ بَيْنَ الذَّرَّةِ وَ الْعُصْفُوْرِ
fasawwayta baynaz zarrate wal u’sfoor
and established equality between the tiny ant and the bird.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِذَا ضَاقَ الْمُقَامُ بِالنَّاسِ
allaahumma ezaa zaaqal moqaamo bin-naas
O Allah, when the gathering place becomes constricted for the people,
فَنَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ ضِيْقِ الْمُقَامِ
fa-na-o’ozo beka min zeeqil moqaam
we seek refuge in You from the constriction of the place.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِذَا طَالَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ
allaahumma ezaa taala yawmul qeyaamate a’lal mujremeen
O Allah, when the Day of Resurrection is drawn out long for the sinners,
فَقَصِّرْ ذٰلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْنَا كَمَا بَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ اِلَى الصَّلَاةِ
faqassir zaalekal yawma a’laynaa kamaa baynas salaate elas salaah
make that Day short for us, like the interval between one prayer and the next.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِذَا اَدْنَيْتَ الشَّمْسَ مِنَ الْجَمَاجِمِ
allaahumma ezaa adnaytash shamsa menal jamaajem
O Allah, when You bring the sun close to the skulls,
فَكَانَ بَيْنَهَا وَ بَيْنَ الْجَمَاجِمِ مِقْدَارُ مِيْلٍ
fakaana baynahaa wa baynal jamaajeme miqdaaro meel
so that between it and the skulls is only the distance of a mile,
وَ زِيْدَ فِيْ حَرِّهَا حَرَّ عَشْرِ سِنِيْنَ
wa zeeda fee harrehaa harro a’shre seneen
and its heat is multiplied with the heat of ten years;
فَاِنَّا نَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُظِلَّنَا بِالْغَمَامِ
fa-innaa nas-aloka an tozillanaa bil-ghamaam
we ask You to shade us with clouds of mercy,
وَ تَنْصِبَ لَنَا الْمَنَابِرَ وَ الْكَرَاسِيَّ نَجْلِسُ عَلَيْهَا
wa tanseba lanal manaabera wal karaasiyya najleso a’layhaa
and erect for us pulpits and seats upon which we may sit
وَ النَّاسُ يَنْطَلِقُوْنَ فِيْ الْمُقَامِ
wan naaso yantaleqoona fil maqaam
while people are running about anxiously in that place.
اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
aameena rabbal a’alameen
Amen, O Lord of the worlds!
اَسْاَلُكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هٰذِهِ الْمَحَامِدِ
as-aloka allaahumma be-haqqe haazehil mahaamed
I ask You, O Allah, by the right of these praises,
اِلَّا غَفَرْتَ لِيْ وَ تَجَاوَزْتَ عَنِّيْ
illaa ghafarta lee wa tajaawazta a’nnee
that You forgive me, pardon me,
وَ اَلْبَسْتَنِيْ الْعَافِيَةَ فِيْ بَدَنِيْ
wa albastanil a’afeyata fee badanee
clothe me with wellbeing in my body,
وَ رَزَقْتَنِيْ السَّلَامَةَ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ
wa razaqtanis salaamata fee deenee
and grant me safety in my religion.
فَاِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ وَ اَنَا وَاثِقٌ بِاِجَابَتِكَ اِيَّايَ فِيْ مَسْاَلَتِيْ
fa-innee as-aloka wa anaa waasequn be-ejaabateka iyyaya fee mas-alatee
For I ask You while confident of Your answer to my plea;
وَ اَدْعُوْكَ وَ اَنَا عَالِمٌ بِاسْتِمَاعِكَ دَعْوَتِيْ
wa ad-o’oka wa anaa a’alemun bis-temaa-e’ka da’watee
I call upon You knowing that You hear my call.
فَاسْتَمِعْ دُعَائِيْ
fastame’ do-a’a-ee
So hear my prayer,
وَ لَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِيْ
wa laa taqta’ rajaa-ee
do not cut off my hope,
وَ لَا تَرُدَّ ثَنَائِيْ
wa laa tarudda sanaa-ee
do not reject my praise,
وَ لَا تُخَيِّبْ دُعَائِيْ
wa laa tokhayyib do-a’a-ee
and do not disappoint my supplication.
اَنَا مُحْتَاجٌ اِلٰى رِضْوَانِكَ
anaa mohtaajun elaa rizwaanek
I am in need of Your good pleasure,
وَ فَقِيْرٌ اِلٰى غُفْرَانِكَ
wa faqeerun elaa ghufraanek
destitute before Your pardon;
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ وَ لَا اٰيِسٌ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
wa as-aloka wa laa aayesun min rahmatek
I ask You without ever despairing of Your mercy,
وَ اَدْعُوْكَ وَ اَنَا غَيْرُ مُحْتَرِزٍ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ
wa ad-o’oka wa anaa ghayro mohtarezin min sakhatek
and I call upon You while unprotected from Your wrath except by You.
رَبِّ فَاسْتَجِبْ لِيْ
rabbe fas-tajib lee
My Lord, answer me,
وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِعَفْوِكَ
wam nun a’layya be-a’fwek
grace me with Your pardon,
وَ تَوَفَّنِيْ مُسْلِمًا
wa tawaffanee muslemaa
cause me to die a Muslim,
وَ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصَّالِحِيْنَ
wa alhiqnee bis-saaleheen
and join me with the righteous.
رَبِّ لَا تَمْنَعْنِيْ فَضْلَكَ يَا مَنَّانُ
rabbe laa tamna’nee fazlaka yaa mannaan
My Lord, do not withhold Your grace from me, O Generous Bestower!
وَ لَا تَكِلْنِيْ اِلٰى نَفْسِيْ مَخْذُوْلًا يَا حَنَّانُ
wa laa takilnee elaa nafsee makhzoolan yaa hannaan
And do not abandon me to myself forsaken, O Compassionate One!
رَبِّ ارْحَمْ عِنْدَ فِرَاقِ الْاَحِبَّةِ صَرْعَتِيْ
rabbir ham i’nda feraaqil ahibbate sar-a’tee
My Lord, have mercy upon my fall when separating from loved ones;
وَ عِنْدَ سُكُوْنِ الْقَبْرِ وَحْدَتِيْ
wa i’nda sokoonil qabre wahdatee
have mercy on my loneliness in the quiet of the grave;
وَ فِيْ مَفَازَةِ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرْبَتِيْ
wa fee mafaazatil qeyaamate ghurbatee
have mercy on my alien state in the vast plain of the Resurrection;
وَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ مَوْقُوْفًا لِلْحِسَابِ فَاقَتِيْ
wa bayna yadayka mawqoofan lil-hesaabe faaqatee
and have mercy on my destitution when standing before You for accounting.
رَبِّ اَسْتَجِيْرُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَاَجِرْنِيْ
rabbe astajeero beka menan naare fa-ajirnee
My Lord, I seek Your sanctuary from the Fire, so protect me!
رَبِّ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَاَعِذْنِيْ
rabbe a-o’ozo beka menan naare fa-a-i’znee
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the Fire, so grant me refuge!
رَبِّ اَفْزَعُ اِلَيْكَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَاَبْعِدْنِيْ
rabbe af-ze-o’ elayka menan naare fa-ab-i’dnee
My Lord, I flee in dread unto You from the Fire, so distance me from it!
رَبِّ اَسْتَرْحِمُكَ مَكْرُوْبًا فَارْحَمْنِيْ
rabbe as-tarhemoka makrooban farhamnee
My Lord, I plead for Your mercy in distress, so have mercy on me!
رَبِّ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا جَهِلْتُ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ
rabbe astaghferoka lemaa jahilto faghfir lee
My Lord, I seek Your forgiveness for what I did out of ignorance, so forgive me!
رَبِّ قَدْ اَبْرَزَنِيْ الدُّعَاءُ لِلْحَاجَةِ اِلَيْكَ فَلَا تُؤْيِسْنِيْ
rabbe qad abrazanid do-a’aa-o lil-haajate elayka falaa toa-yisnee
My Lord, sheer need of You has brought me out to supplicate, so do not disappoint me,
يَا كَرِيْمُ ذَا الْاٰلَاءِ وَ الْاِحْسَانِ وَ التَّجَاوُزِ
yaa kareemo zal aalaa-e wal ehsaane wat tajaawoz
O Generous One, Possessor of bounties, benevolence, and pardon!
سَيِّدِيْ يَا بَرُّ يَا رَحِيْمُ
sayyedee yaa barro yaa raheem
My Master, O Righteous, O Merciful!
اِسْتَجِبْ بَيْنَ الْمُتَضَرِّعِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ دَعْوَتِيْ
istajib baynal motazarre-e’ena elayka da’watee
Accept my supplication from among those who plead to You,
وَ ارْحَمْ بَيْنَ الْمُنْتَحِبِيْنَ بِالْعَوِيْلِ عَبْرَتِيْ
war ham baynal muntahebeena bil-a’weele a’bratee
and show mercy to my tears from among those who wail in weeping.
وَ اجْعَلْ فِيْ لِقَائِكَ يَوْمَ الْخُرُوْجِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا رَاحَتِيْ
waj a’l fee leqaa-eka yawmal khorooje menad dunyaa raahatee
Make my comfort on the day of departing this world lie in meeting You;
وَ اسْتُرْ بَيْنَ الْاَمْوَاتِ يَا عَظِيْمَ الرَّجَاءِ عَوْرَتِيْ
was tur baynal amwaate yaa a’zeemar rajaa-e a’wratee
veil my faults among the dead, O Supreme Object of hope;
وَ اعْطِفْ عَلَيَّ عِنْدَ التَّحَوُّلِ وَحِيْدًا اِلٰى حُفْرَتِيْ
wa’ tif a’layya i’ndat tahawwole waheedan elaa hufratee
and show tenderness toward me when I am carried alone to my grave.
اِنَّكَ اَمَلِيْ وَ مَوْضِعُ طَلِبَتِيْ
innaka amalee wa maw-ze-o’ talebatee
You are indeed my hope and the ultimate goal of my request,
وَ الْعَارِفُ بِمَا اُرِيْدُ فِيْ تَوْجِيْهِ مَسْاَلَتِيْ
wal a’arefo bemaa oreedo fee tawjeehe mas-alatee
and the Knower of what I seek in the direction of my plea.
فَاقْضِ يَا قَاضِيَ الْحَاجَاتِ حَاجَتِيْ
faqze yaa qaazeyal haajaate haajatee
So fulfill my need, O Granter of needs!
فَاِلَيْكَ الْمُشْتَكٰى وَ اَنْتَ الْمُسْتَعَانُ وَ الْمُرْتَجٰى
fa-elaykal mushtakaa wa antal musta-a’ano wal murtajaa
To You alone is the complaint raised, and You are the One besought for help and relied upon.
اَفِرُّ اِلَيْكَ هَارِبًا مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ فَاقْبَلْنِيْ
afirro elayka haareban menaz zonoobe faqbalnee
I flee to You running away from sins, so accept me;
وَ اَلْتَجِأُ مِنْ عَدْلِكَ اِلٰى مَغْفِرَتِكَ فَاَدْرِكْنِيْ
wa altaje-o min a’dleka elaa maghferateka fa-adriknee
I turn from Your absolute justice to Your forgiveness, so reach out to me;
وَ اَلْتَاذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ بَطْشِكَ فَامْنَعْنِيْ
wa altaazo be-a’fweka min batsheka fam-na’nee
I seek shelter in Your pardon from Your punishment, so shield me;
وَ اَسْتَرْوِحُ رَحْمَتَكَ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ فَنَجِّنِيْ
wa astar-weho rahmataka min e’qaabeka fanajjenee
and I seek relief in Your mercy from Your retribution, so save me.
وَ اَطْلُبُ الْقُرْبَةَ مِنْكَ بِالْاِسْلَامِ فَقَرِّبْنِيْ
wa atlobul qurbata minka bil-islaame faqarribnee
I seek proximity to You through Islam, so draw me near;
وَ مِنَ الْفَزَعِ الْاَكْبَرِ فَاٰمِنِّيْ
wa menal fa-za-i’l akbare fa-aaminnee
grant me security from the Supreme Terror;
وَ فِيْ ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ فَظَلِّلْنِيْ
wa fee zille a’rsheka fazallilnee
shade me under the shadow of Your Throne;
وَ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ فَهَبْ لِيْ
wa kiflayne min rahmateka fahab lee
bestow upon me a twofold portion of Your mercy;
وَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا سَالِمًا فَنَجِّنِيْ
wa menad dunyaa saaleman fanajjenee
deliver me safe and sound from this worldly life;
وَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِ فَاَخْرِجْنِيْ
wa menaz zolomaate elan noore fa-akhrijnee
and bring me forth out of darknesses into the light.
وَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَبَيِّضْ وَجْهِيْ
wa yawmal qeyaamate fa-bayyiz wajhee
On the Day of Resurrection, brighten my face;
وَ حِسَابًا يَسِيْرًا فَحَاسِبْنِيْ
wa hesaaban yaseeran fahaasibnee
reckon me with an easy reckoning;
وَ بِسَرَائِرِيْ فَلَا تَفْضَحْنِيْ
wa besaraa-eree falaa tafzahnee
do not disgrace me because of my hidden secrets;
وَ عَلٰى بَلَائِكَ فَصَبِّرْنِيْ
wa a’laa balaa-eka fasabbirnee
grant me patience over Your trials;
وَ كَمَا صَرَفْتَ عَنْ يُوْسُفَ السُّوْءَ وَ الْفَحْشَاءَ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّيْ
wa kamaa sarafta a’n yoosofas soo-a wal fahshaa-a fasrifho a’nnee
turn away evil and indecency from me as You turned it away from Yusuf;
وَ مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لِيْ بِهٖ فَلَا تُحَمِّلْنِيْ
wa maa laa taaqata lee behi falaa tohammilnee
and do not burden me with what I have no strength to bear.
وَ اِلٰى دَارِ السَّلَامِ فَاهْدِنِيْ
wa elaa daaris salaame fahdenee
Guide me to the Abode of Peace;
وَ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ فَانْفَعْنِيْ
wa bil-qur-aane fan-fa’nee
benefit me through the Quran;
وَ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فَثَبِّتْنِيْ
wa bil-qawlis saabete fasabbitnee
make me firm upon the steadfast word;
وَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ فَاحْفَظْنِيْ
wa menash shaytaanir rajeeme fah-faznee
protect me from the outcast devil;
وَ بِحَوْلِكَ وَ قُوَّتِكَ وَ جَبَرُوْتِكَ فَاعْصِمْنِيْ
wa be-hawleka wa quwwateka wa jabarooteka fa’simnee
shield me through Your power, strength, and almighty force;
وَ بِحِلْمِكَ وَ عِلْمِكَ وَ سَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ فَنَجِّنِيْ
wa be-hilmeka wa i’lmeka wa sa-a’te rahmateka min jahannama fanajjenee
save me from Hell through Your forbearance, knowledge, and vast mercy;
وَ جَنَّتَكَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ فَاَسْكِنِّيْ
wa jannatakal firdawsa fa-askinnee
dwell me within Your Garden of Firdaus;
وَ النَّظَرَ اِلٰى وَجْهِكَ فَارْزُقْنِيْ
wan nazara elaa wajheka far-zuqnee
bless me with the sight of Your Noble Countenance;
وَ بِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ فَاَلْحِقْنِيْ
wa be-nabiyyeka mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi fa-alhiqnee
join me with Your Prophet Muhammad—blessings of Allah be upon him and his family;
وَ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ وَ اَوْلِيَائِهِمْ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذِيْ شَرٍّ فَاكْفِنِيْ
wa menash shayaateene wa awleyaa-ehim wa min sharre kulle zee sharrin fakfenee
and suffice me against devils, their allies, and the harm of every evil-doer.
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اَعْدَائِيْ وَ مَنْ كَادَنِيْ بِسُوْءٍ
allaahumma wa a-a’daa-ee wa man kaadanee be-soo’
O Allah, as for my enemies and whoever plots evil against me:
اِنْ اَتَوْا بَرًّا فَجَبِّنْ شَجِيْعَهُمْ
in ataw barran fajabbin sha-jee-a’hum
if they march across land, make cowards of their brave ones,
فَضِّ جُمُوْعَهُمْ
fazze jomoo-a’hum
disperse their gatherings,
كَلِّلْ سِلَاحَهُمْ
kallil selaahahum
blunt their weapons,
عَرْقِبْ دَوَابَّهُمْ
a’rqib dawaabbahum
hamstring their mounts,
سَلِّطْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعَوَاصِفَ وَ الْقَوَاصِفَ اَبَدًا
sallit a’layhemul a’waa-sefa wal qawaasefa abadaa
and unleash against them raging and shattering storms forever
حَتّٰى تُصْلِيْهِمُ النَّارَ
hattaa tusleehemun naar
until You cast them into the Fire;
اَنْزِلْهُمْ مِنْ صَيَاصِيْهِمْ
anzilhum min sayaaseehim
bring them down from their strongholds,
وَ اَمْكِنَّا مِنْ نَوَاصِيْهِمْ
wa amkinnaa min nawaaseehim
and grant us power over their forelocks.
اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
aameena rabbal a’alameen
Amen, O Lord of the worlds!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
صَلَاةً يَشْهَدُ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ مَعَ الْاَبْرَارِ
salaatan yash-hadul awwaloona ma-a’l abraar
a blessing witnessed by the earliest generations alongside the righteous,
وَ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
wa sayyedil mursaleena wa khaatamin nabiyyeen
and the Master of Messengers, the Seal of Prophets,
وَ قَائِدِ الْخَيْرِ، وَ مِفْتَاحِ الرَّحْمَةِ
wa qaa-edil khayre, wa miftaahir rahmah
the Leader of all good, and the Key of mercy.
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ الْبَيْتِ الْحَرَامِ، وَ الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ
allaahumma rabbal baytil haraame, wash shahril haraam
O Allah, Lord of the Sacred House and the Sacred Month,
وَ رَبَّ الْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ
wa rabbal mash-a’ril haraam
Lord of the Sacred Monument (al-Mash'ar al-Haram),
وَ رَبَّ الرُّكْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ
wa rabbar rukne wal maqaam
Lord of the Corner (Rukn) and the Station (Maqam),
وَ رَبَّ الْحِلِّ وَ الْحَرَامِ
wa rabbal hille wal haraam
and Lord of the non-sacred territory (Hill) and the Sanctuary (Haram):
بَلِّغْ رُوْحَ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنَّا التَّحِيَّةَ وَ السَّلَامَ
balligh rooha mohammadin minnat tahiyyata was salaam
convey to the soul of Muhammad greetings and peace from us.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ
assalaamo a’layka yaa rasoolal laah
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah!
سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَمِيْنَ اللهِ
salaamun a’layka yaa ameenal laah
Peace be upon you, O Trustee of Allah!
سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ
salaamun a’layka yaa mohammadab na a’bdil laah
Peace be upon you, O Muhammad son of Abdullah!
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهٗ
assalaamo a’layka wa rahmatul laahe wa barakaatoh
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
فَهُوَ كَمَا وَصَفْتَهٗ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ رَءُوْفٌ رَحِيْمٌ
fahowa kamaa wasaftahu bil-moameneena raoofun raheem
For he is just as You described him: to the believers, kind and merciful.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعْطِهٖ اَفْضَلَ مَا سَاَلَكَ
allaahumma a-a’tehi afzala maa sa-alak
O Allah, grant him the best of what he asked You for,
وَ اَفْضَلَ مَا سُئِلْتَ لَهٗ
wa afzala maa so-ilta lah
the best of what has ever been asked of You for him,
وَ اَفْضَلَ مَا اَنْتَ مَسْئُوْلٌ لَهٗ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
wa afzala maa anta mas-oolun lahu elaa yawmil qeyaamah
and the best of what You will be asked for him until the Day of Resurrection.
اٰمِيْنَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
aameena yaa rabbal a’alameen
Amen, O Lord of the worlds!
