سُبْحَانَ مَنْ يَعْلَمُ جَوَارِحَ الْقُلُوْبِ
subhaana man ya’lamo jawaarehal qoloob
Glorified be the One Who is aware of the inner workings of the hearts.
سُبْحَانَ مَنْ يُحْصِيْ عَدَدَ الذُّنُوْبِ
subhaana man yohsee a’dadaz zonoob
Glorified be the One Who counts the number of sins.
سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَا يَخْفٰى عَلَيْهِ خَافِيَةٌ فِيْ الْاَرْضِ وَ لَا فِيْ السَّمَاءِ
subhaana man laa yakhfaa a’layhe khaafeyatun fil arze wa laa fis samaa’
Glorified be the One from Whom nothing is hidden in the earth or in the heavens.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ لَمْ يَجْعَلْنِيْ كَافِرًا لِاَنْعُمِهٖ
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee lam yaj-a’lnee kaaferan le-an-o’meh
All praise is for Allah, Who did not make me an ingrate towards His blessings,
وَ لَا جَاحِدًا لِفَضْلِهٖ
wa laa jaahedan le-fazleh
nor a denier of His grace;
فَالْخَيْرُ فِيْهِ، وَ هُوَ اَهْلُهٗ
fal-khayro feehe, wa howa ahloh
for all goodness resides in Him, and He alone is worthy of it.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ عَلٰى حُجَّتِهِ الْبَالِغَةِ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ مَنْ خَلَقَ
wal hamdo lillaahe a’laa hujjatehil baaleghate a’laa jamee-e’ man khalaq
All praise is for Allah for His decisive proof over all creation,
مِمَّنْ اَطَاعَهٗ وَ مِمَّنْ عَصَاهُ
mimman ataa-a’hu wa mimman a’saah
over those who obey Him and those who disobey Him.
فَاِنْ رَحِمَ فَمِنْ مَنِّهٖ
fa-in rahema famin manneh
If He shows mercy, it is purely from His favor;
وَ اِنْ عَاقَبَ فَبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ
wa in a’aqaba fa-bemaa qaddamat aydeehim
and if He punishes, it is for what their own hands have put forth;
وَ مَا اللهُ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيْدِ
wa mal laaho be-zallaamin lil-a’beed
and Allah is never unjust to His servants.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْمَكَانِ
wal hamdo lillaahil a’liyyil makaan
All praise is for Allah, the Lofty in rank,
وَ الرَّفِيْعِ الْبُنْيَانِ
war rafee-i’l bunyaan
the Supreme in structure,
الشَّدِيْدِ الْاَرْكَانِ
ash-shadeedil arkaan
the Firm in foundation,
الْعَزِيْزِ السُّلْطَانِ
al-a’zeezis sultaan
the Mighty in sovereignty,
الْعَظِيْمِ الشَّاْنِ
al-a’zeemish shaan
the Grand in majesty,
الْوَاضِحِ الْبُرْهَانِ
al-waa-zehil burhaan
the Clear in manifest proof,
الرَّحِيْمِ الرَّحْمٰنِ
ar-raheemir rahmaan
the Merciful, the Compassionate,
الْمُنْعِمِ الْمَنَّانِ
al-mun-e’mil mannaan
the Bestower of favors, the Benefactor.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِيْ احْتَجَبَ عَنْ كُلِّ مَخْلُوْقٍ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazeeh tajaba a’n kulle makhlooq
All praise is for Allah Who veiled Himself from every creature,
يَرَاهُ بِحَقِيْقَةِ الرُّبُوْبِيَّةِ وَ قُدْرَةِ الْوَحْدَانِيَّةِ
yaraaho be-haqeeqatir roboobiyyate wa qudratil wahdaaniyyah
Who observes all through the absolute reality of His Lordship and power of His Oneness;
فَلَمْ تُدْرِكْهُ الْاَبْصَارُ
falam tudrikhul absaar
no eyes can perceive Him,
وَ لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ الْاَخْبَارُ
wa lam tohit behil akhbaar
no accounts can fully encompass Him,
وَ لَمْ يُعَيِّنْهُ مِقْدَارٌ
wa lam yo-a’yyinho miqdaar
no measurement can quantify Him,
وَ لَمْ يَتَوَهَّمْهُ اعْتِبَارٌ
wa lam yatawahhamhote’baar
and no estimation can ever imagine Him;
لِاَنَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْجَبَّارُ
le-annahul malekul jabbaar
because He is the Sovereign King, the Irresistible.
اَللّٰهُمَّ قَدْ تَرٰى مَكَانِيْ
allaahumma qad taraa makaanee
O Allah, You surely see where I am,
وَ تَسْمَعُ كَلَامِيْ
wa tas-ma-o’ kalaamee
You hear my speech,
وَ تَطَّلِعُ عَلٰى اَمْرِيْ
wa tattale-o’ a’laa amree
You are fully aware of my affair,
وَ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِيْ نَفْسِيْ
wa ta’lamo maa fee nafsee
You know what is within my soul,
وَ لَيْسَ يَخْفٰى عَلَيْكَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ اَمْرِيْ
wa laysa yakhfaa a’layka shay-un min amree
and nothing of my state is hidden from You.
وَ قَدْ سَعَيْتُ اِلَيْكَ فِيْ طَلِبَتِيْ
wa qad sa-a’yto elayka fee talebatee
I have hastened toward You with my petition,
وَ طَلَبْتُ اِلَيْكَ فِيْ حَاجَتِيْ
wa talabto elayka fee haajatee
I have turned to You in my need,
وَ تَضَرَّعْتُ اِلَيْكَ فِيْ مَسْاَلَتِيْ
wa tazarra’to elayka fee mas-alatee
I have pleaded humbly to You in my supplication,
وَ سَاَلْتُكَ لِفَقْرٍ وَ حَاجَةٍ
wa sa-altoka le-faqrin wa haajah
and I have begged You out of poverty and sheer need,
وَ ذِلَّةٍ وَ ضِيْقَةٍ
wa zillatin wa zeeqah
out of humility and distress,
وَ بُؤْسٍ وَ مَسْكَنَةٍ
wa boasin wa maskanah
and out of hardship and destitution.
وَ اَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الْجَوَادُ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ
wa antar rabbul jawaado bil-maghferah
And You are the Lord Who is bountiful in forgiveness;
تَجِدُ مَنْ تُعَذِّبُ غَيْرِيْ
tajedo man to-a’zzebo ghayree
You can easily find others besides me to punish,
وَ لَا اَجِدُ مَنْ يَغْفِرُ لِيْ غَيْرَكَ
wa laa ajedo man yaghfero lee ghayrak
yet I can find no one to forgive me other than You;
وَ اَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِيْ
wa anta ghaniyyun a’n a’zaabee
You have no need to chastise me,
وَ اَنَا فَقِيْرٌ اِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
wa anaa faqeerun elaa rahmatek
while I am utterly in need of Your mercy.
فَاَسْاَلُكَ بِفَقْرِيْ اِلَيْكَ وَ غِنَاكَ عَنِّيْ
fa-as-aloka be-faqree elayka wa ghenaaka a’nnee
So I ask You by my poverty before You and Your self-sufficiency above me,
وَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَ قِلَّةِ امْتِنَاعِيْ مِنْكَ
wa be-qudrateka a’layya wa qillatim tenaa-e’e mink
and by Your absolute power over me and my inability to resist You,
اَنْ تَجْعَلَ دُعَائِيْ هٰذَا دُعَاءً وَافَقَ مِنْكَ اِجَابَةً
an taj-a’la do-a’a-ee haazaa do-a’a-an waafaqa minka ejaabah
that You make this supplication of mine met with Your acceptance,
وَ مَجْلِسِيْ هٰذَا مَجْلِسًا وَافَقَ مِنْكَ رَحْمَةً
wa majlesee haazaa majlesan waafaqa minka rahmah
this gathering of mine blessed with Your mercy,
وَ طَلِبَتِيْ هٰذِهٖ طَلِبَةً وَافَقَتْ نَجَاحًا
wa talebatee haazehi talebatan waafaqat najaahaa
and this request of mine fulfilled with success.
وَ مَا خِفْتُ عُسْرَتَهٗ مِنَ الْاُمُوْرِ فَيَسِّرْهُ
wa maa khifto u’sratahu menal omoore fayassirh
Whichever affairs I fear will be difficult, make them easy;
وَ مَا خِفْتُ عَجْزَهٗ مِنَ الْاَشْيَاءِ فَوَسِّعْهُ
wa maa khifto a’jzahu menal ash-yaa-e fawasse’-h
whichever matters I fear I am incapable of handling, widen them for me;
وَ مَنْ اَرَادَنِيْ بِسُوْءٍ مِنَ الْخَلَائِقِ كُلِّهِمْ فَاغْلِبْهُ
wa man araadanee be-soo-in menal khalaa-eqe kullehim fagh-libh
and whoever among all creation intends evil against me, overcome them.
اٰمِيْنَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
aameena yaa arhamar raahemeen
Amen, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
وَ هَوِّنْ عَلَيَّ مَا خَشِيْتُ شِدَّتَهٗ
wa hawwin a’layya maa khasheeto shiddatah
Ease for me that whose hardship I fear,
وَ اكْشِفْ عَنِّيْ مَا خَشِيْتُ كُرْبَتَهٗ
wak shif a’nnee maa khasheeto kurbatah
remove from me that whose distress I dread,
وَ يَسِّرْ لِيْ مَا خَشِيْتُ عُسْرَتَهٗ
wa yassir lee maa khasheeto u’sratah
and make smooth for me that whose severity I worry about.
اٰمِيْنَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
aameena yaa rabbal a’alameen
Amen, O Lord of the worlds!
اَللّٰهُمَّ انْزِعِ الْعُجْبَ وَ الرِّيَاءَ وَ الْكِبْرَ وَ الْبَغْيَ
allaahumman ze-i’l u’jba war reyaa-a wak kibra wal baghy
O Allah, strip away self-admiration, ostentation, pride, and oppression,
وَ الْحَسَدَ وَ الضَّعْفَ وَ الشَّكَّ وَ الْوَهْنَ
wal hasada waz za’fa wash shakka wal wahn
envy, weakness, doubt, and sluggishness,
وَ الضُّرَّ وَ الْاَسْقَامَ وَ الْخِذْلَانَ
waz zurra wal asqaama wal khizlaan
harm, ailments, and abandonment,
وَ الْمَكْرَ وَ الْخَدِيْعَةَ وَ الْبَلِيَّةَ وَ الْفَسَادَ
wal makra wal khadee-a’ta wal baliyyata wal fasaad
deceit, trickery, affliction, and corruption
مِنْ سَمْعِيْ وَ بَصَرِيْ وَ جَمِيْعِ جَوَارِحِيْ
min sam-e’e wa basaree wa jamee-e’ jawaarehee
from my hearing, my sight, and all my limbs;
وَ خُذْ بِنَاصِيَتِيْ اِلٰى مَا تُحِبُّ وَ تَرْضٰى
wa khuz be-naaseyatee elaa maa tohibbo wa tarzaa
and take hold of my forelock toward that which You love and are pleased with,
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yaa arhamar raahemeen
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad;
وَ اغْفِرْ ذَنْبِيْ
wagh fir zanbee
forgive my sins,
وَ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَتِيْ
was tur a’wratee
veil my faults,
وَ اٰمِنْ رَوْعَتِيْ
wa aamin raw-a’tee
calm my anxieties,
وَ اجْبُرْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ
waj bur moseebatee
mend my brokenness in calamity,
وَ اَغْنِ فَقْرِيْ
wa aghne faqree
enrich my poverty,
وَ يَسِّرْ حَاجَتِيْ
wa yassir haajatee
and facilitate my needs.
وَ اَقِلْنِيْ عَثْرَتِيْ
wa aqilnee a’sratee
Overlook my lapses,
وَ اجْمَعْ شَمْلِيْ
waj ma’ shamlee
gather my scattered affairs together,
وَ اكْفِنِيْ مَا اَهَمَّنِيْ
wak fenee maa ahammanee
and suffice me in whatever causes me worry,
وَ مَا غَابَ عَنِّيْ، وَ مَا حَضَرَنِيْ
wa maa ghaaba a’nnee, wa maa hazaranee
in whatever is absent from me and whatever is before me,
وَ مَا اَتَخَوَّفُهٗ مِنْكَ
wa maa atakhawwafohu mink
and in all that I fear from You,
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yaa arhamar raahemeen
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَوَّضْتُ اَمْرِيْ اِلَيْكَ
allaahumma fawwazto amree elayk
O Allah, I have entrusted my affairs entirely to You,
وَ اَلْجَاْتُ ظَهْرِيْ اِلَيْكَ
wa aljaato zahree elayk
I have leaned my back against Your support,
وَ اَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ اِلَيْكَ بِمَا جَنَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا
wa aslamto nafsee elayka bemaa janayto a’layhaa
and I surrender myself to You despite the sins I committed against it,
فَرَقًا مِنْكَ وَ خَوْفًا وَ طَمَعًا
faraqan minka wa khawfan wa tam-a’a
out of awe of You, fear, and longing for Your favor.
وَ اَنْتَ الْكَرِيْمُ الَّذِيْ لَا يَقْطَعُ الرَّجَاءَ
wa antal kareemul lazee laa yaqta-u’r rajaa’
You are the Generous Lord Who never severs hope,
وَ لَا يُخَيِّبُ الدُّعَاءَ
wa laa yokhayyebud do-a’a’
and never disappoints supplication.
فَاَسْاَلُكَ بِحَقِّ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِكَ
fa-as-aloka be-haqqe ibraaheema khaleelek
So I ask You by the right of Ibrahim, Your intimate friend,
وَ مُوْسٰى كَلِيْمِكَ
wa moosaa kaleemek
and Musa, the one with whom You spoke directly,
وَ عِيْسٰى رُوحِكَ
wa e’esaa roohek
and Isa, Your spirit,
وَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ صَفِيِّكَ وَ نَبِيِّكَ
wa mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi safiyyeka wa nabiyyek
and Muhammad—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family—Your chosen one and Your Prophet:
اَلَّا تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الْكَرِيْمَ عَنِّيْ
allaa tasrefa wajhakal kareema a’nnee
do not turn Your noble face away from me
حَتّٰى تَقْبَلَ تَوْبَتِيْ
hattaa taqbala tawbatee
until You have accepted my repentance,
وَ تَرْحَمَ عَبْرَتِيْ
wa tarhama a’bratee
shown mercy to my tears,
وَ تَغْفِرَ لِيْ خَطِيْئَتِيْ
wa taghfera lee khatee-atee
and forgiven my misdeeds,
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ وَ يَا اَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِيْنَ
yaa arhamar raahemeena wa yaa ahkamal haakemeen
O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Best of Judges!
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ ثَارِيْ عَلٰى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِيْ
allaahummaj a’l saaree a’laa man zalamanee
O Allah, let my redress fall upon the one who wronged me,
وَ انْصُرْنِيْ عَلٰى مَنْ عَادَانِيْ
wan surnee a’laa man a’adaanee
and grant me victory over whoever shows hostility toward me.
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ
allaahumma laa taj-a’l moseebatee fee deenee
O Allah, let not my affliction strike my faith,
وَ لَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا اَكْبَرَ هَمِّيْ وَ لَا مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِيْ
wa laa taj-a’lid dunyaa akbara hammee wa laa mablagha i’lmee
and do not let worldly life become my greatest concern nor the limit of my knowledge.
اِلٰهِيْ اَصْلِحْ لِيْ دِيْنِيَ الَّذِيْ هُوَ عِصْمَةُ اَمْرِيْ
elaahee asleh lee deeneyal lazee howa i’smato amree
My God, reform for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affair;
وَ اَصْلِحْ لِيْ دُنْيَايَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَاشِيْ
wa asleh lee dunyaayal latee feehaa ma-a’ashee
reform for me my worldly life, wherein lies my livelihood;
وَ اَصْلِحْ لِيْ اٰخِرَتِيَ الَّتِيْ اِلَيْهَا مَعَادِيْ
wa asleh lee aakherateyal latee elayhaa ma-a’adee
and reform for me my Hereafter, to which is my ultimate return.
وَ اجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ
waj a’lil hayaata zeyaadatan lee min kulle khayr
Make life for me an increase in every good,
وَ اجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ
waj a’lil mawta raahatan lee min kulle sharr
and make death a release for me from every evil.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ
allaahumma innaka a’fuwwun tohibbul a’fwa fa’fo a’nnee
O Allah, You are indeed Pardoning and love to pardon, so pardon me.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَحْيِنِيْ مَا عَلِمْتَ الْحَيَاةَ خَيْرًا لِيْ
allaahumma ahyenee maa a’limtal hayaata khayran lee
O Allah, keep me alive as long as You know life to be good for me,
وَ تَوَفَّنِيْ اِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِيْ
wa tawaffanee ezaa kaanatil wafaato khayran lee
and take my soul when death is better for me.
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ خَشْيَتَكَ فِيْ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهَادَةِ
wa as-aloka khasyataka fil ghaybe wash shahaadah
I ask of You the fear of You in secret and in public,
وَ الْعَدْلَ فِيْ الْغَضَبِ وَ الرِّضَا
wal a’dla fil ghazabe war rezaa
and justice in moments of both anger and contentment.
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ الْقَصْدَ فِيْ الْفَقْرِ وَ الْغِنٰى
wa as-alokal qasda fil faqre wal ghenaa
I ask of You moderation in both poverty and wealth;
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ نَعِيْمًا لَا يَبِيْدُ
wa as-aloka na-e’eman laa yabeed
I ask of You bliss that never perishes,
وَ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لَا يَنْقَطِعُ
wa qurrata a’ynin laa tanqate-o’
and a coolness of the eyes that never ceases;
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ الرِّضَا بَعْدَ الْقَضَاءِ
wa as-alokar rezaa ba’dal qazaa’
I ask of You contentment after the decree has passed,
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ لَذَّةَ النَّظَرِ اِلٰى وَجْهِكَ
wa as-aloka lazzatan nazare elaa wajhek
and I ask of You the sheer delight of gazing upon Your Noble Countenance.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْتَهْدِيْكَ لِاِرْشَادِ اَمْرِيْ
allaahumma innee as-tahdeeka le-irshaade amree
O Allah, I seek Your guidance to direct my affairs rightly,
وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِيْ
wa a-o’ozo beka min sharre nafsee
and I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self.
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَمِلْتُ سُوْءً وَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ
allaahumma a’milto soo-an wa zalamto nafsee fagh-fir lee
O Allah, I have done evil and wronged my own self, so forgive me;
اِنَّهٗ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
innahu laa yaghferuz zonooba illaa ant
for none can forgive sins except You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ تَعْجِيْلَ عَافِيَتِكَ
allaahumma innee as-aloka ta’jeela a’afeyatek
O Allah, I ask You for the swift arrival of Your wellbeing,
وَ صَبْرًا عَلٰى بَلِيَّتِكَ
wa sabran a’laa baliyyatek
patience during Your trials,
وَ خُرُوْجًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا اِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
wa khoroojan menad dunyaa elaa rahmatek
and an exit from this worldly life into Your mercy.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اُشْهِدُكَ
allaahumma innee ush-hedok
O Allah, I call You to witness,
وَ اُشْهِدُ مَلَائِكَتَكَ وَ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ
wa ush-hedo malaa-ekataka wa hamalata a’rshek
and I call Your angels and the bearers of Your Throne to witness,
وَ اُشْهِدُ مَنْ فِيْ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ مَنْ فِيْ الْاَرْضِ
wa ush-hedo man fis samaawaate wa man fil arz
and I call to witness whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth:
اَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ
annaka antal laaho laa elaaha illaa anta wahdaka laa shareeka lak
that You are Allah, there is no deity except You alone, without partner;
وَ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَ رَسُوْلُكَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
wa anna mohammadan a’bdoka wa rasooloka sallal laaho a’layhe wa aaleh
and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family.
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِاَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدَ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
wa as-aloka be-anna lakal hamda laa elaaha illaa ant
And I ask You by virtue of all praise belonging to You, there is no deity except You,
بَدِيْعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
ba-dee-o’s samaawaate wal arz
the Originator of the heavens and the earth,
يَا كَائِنُ قَبْلَ اَنْ يَكُوْنَ شَيْءٌ
yaa kaa-eno qabla an yakoona shay’
O Existing One before anything came into being,
وَ الْمُكَوِّنُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ
wal mokawweno le-kulle shay’
the Creator of all things,
وَ الْكَائِنُ بَعْدَ مَا لَا يَكُوْنُ شَيْءٌ
wal kaa-eno ba’da maa laa yakoono shay’
and the One Who endures after all else ceases to be.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ رَفَعْتُ بَصَرِيْ
allaahumma elaa rahmateka rafa’to basaree
O Allah, toward Your mercy I have lifted my gaze,
وَ اِلٰى جُوْدِكَ بَسَطْتُ كَفِّيْ
wa elaa joodeka basat-to kaffee
and toward Your generosity I have stretched out my hands;
فَلَا تَحْرِمْنِيْ وَ اَنَا اَسْاَلُكَ
falaa tahrimnee wa anaa as-alok
so do not turn me away empty-handed while I plead to You,
وَ لَا تُعَذِّبْنِيْ وَ اَنَا اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ
wa laa to-a’zzibnee wa anaa astaghferok
and do not punish me while I am asking for Your forgiveness.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ فَاِنَّكَ بِيْ عَالِمٌ
allaahumma fagh-fir lee fa-innaka bee a’alem
O Allah, forgive me, for You know me completely;
وَ لَا تُعَذِّبْنِيْ فَاِنَّكَ عَلَيَّ قَادِرٌ
wa laa to-a’zzibnee fa-innaka a’layya qaader
and do not punish me, for You possess complete power over me;
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
be-rahmateka yaa arhamar raahemeen
by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
اَللّٰهُمَّ ذَا الرَّحْمَةِ الْوَاسِعَةِ
allaahumma zar rahmatil waase-a’h
O Allah, Possessor of boundless mercy
وَ الصَّلَاةِ النَّافِعَةِ الرَّافِعَةِ
was salaatin naafe-a’tir raafe-a’h
and of beneficial, elevating blessings:
صَلِّ عَلٰى اَكْرَمِ خَلْقِكَ عَلَيْكَ
salle a’laa akrame khalqeka a’layk
send blessings upon the most honorable of Your creation to You,
وَ اَحَبِّهِمْ اِلَيْكَ، وَ اَوْجَهِهِمْ لَدَيْكَ
wa ahabbehim elayka, wa awjehehim ladayk
the most beloved of them to You, and the most eminent before You,
مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُوْلِكَ الْمَخْصُوْصِ بِفَضَائِلِ الْوَسَائِلِ
mohammadin a’bdeka wa rasoolekal makhsoose be-fazaa-elil wasaa-el
Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger, uniquely distinguished with virtues of mediation;
اَشْرَفَ وَ اَكْمَلَ، وَ اَرْفَعَ وَ اَعْظَمَ
ashrafa wa akmala, wa arfa-a’ wa a-a’zam
the most noble, most complete, highest, and greatest
وَ اَكْرَمَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلٰى مُبَلِّغٍ عَنْكَ
wa akrama maa sallayta a’laa moballeghin a’nk
and most generous blessings You have ever bestowed upon a conveyor from You,
مُؤْتَمَنٍ عَلٰى وَحْيِكَ
moatamanin a’laa wahyek
one entrusted with Your revelation.
اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا سَدَدْتَ بِهِ الْعَمٰى
allaahumma kamaa sadadta behil a’maa
O Allah, just as You cured spiritual blindness through him
وَ فَتَحْتَ بِهِ الْهُدٰى
wa fatahta behil hodaa
and opened up the paths of guidance through him,
فَاجْعَلْ مَنَاهِـجَ سُبُلِهٖ لَنَا سُنَنًا
faj-a’l manaaheja sobolehi lanaa sonanaa
make the paths he trod a way of life for us,
وَ حُجَجَ بُرْهَانِهٖ لَنَا سَبَبًا
wa hojaja burhaanehi lanaa sababaa
and the clear proofs of his evidence a means for us
نَاْتَمَّ بِهٖ اِلَى الْقُدُوْمِ عَلَيْكَ
naatamma behi elal qodoome a’layk
by which we follow him to our arrival before You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْاَ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَ مِلْاَ طِبَاقِهِنَّ
allaahumma lakal hamdo mil-as samaawaatis sab-e’ wa mil-a tebaaqehinn
O Allah, all praise is Yours filling the seven heavens and filling their layers,
وَ مِلْاَ الْاَرَضِيْنَ السَّبْعِ وَ مِلْاَ مَا بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa mil-al arazeenas sab-e’ wa mil-a maa baynahunn
filling the seven earths and filling all that is between them,
وَ مِلْاَ عَرْشِ رَبِّنَا الْكَرِيْمِ
wa mil-a a’rshe rabbenal kareem
filling the Throne of our Noble Lord,
وَ مِيْزَانَ رَبِّنَا الْغَفَّارِ
wa meezaana rabbenal ghaffaar
matching the scale of our Forgiving Lord,
وَ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِ رَبِّنَا الْقَهَّارِ
wa medaada kalemaate rabbenal qahhaar
equal to the ink of the words of our Compelling Lord,
وَ مِلْاَ الْجَنَّةِ، وَ مِلْاَ النَّارِ
wa mil-al jannate, wa mil-an naar
filling Paradise, filling the Fire,
وَ عَدَدَ الْمَاءِ وَ الثَّرٰى
wa a’dadal maa-e was saraa
matching the number of water drops and soil particles,
وَ عَدَدَ مَا يُرٰى وَ مَا لَا يُرٰى
wa a’dada maa yoraa wa maa laa yoraa
and matching the number of all that is seen and all that is unseen.
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَ بَرَكَاتِكَ
allaahumma waj a’l salawaateka wa barakaatek
O Allah, shower Your blessings and Your bounties,
وَ مَنَّكَ وَ مَغْفِرَتَكَ
wa manneka wa maghferatek
Your favors and Your forgiveness,
وَ رَحْمَتَكَ وَ رِضْوَانَكَ
wa rahmataka wa rizwaanawk
Your mercy and Your pleasure,
وَ فَضْلَكَ وَ سَلَامَتَكَ
wa fazlaka wa salaamatek
Your grace and Your peace,
وَ ذِكْرَكَ وَ نُوْرَكَ
wa zikraka wa noorak
Your remembrance and Your light,
وَ شَرَفَكَ وَ نِعْمَتَكَ وَ خِيَرَتَكَ
wa sharafaka wa ne’mataka wa kheyaratek
Your honor, Your gifts, and Your choicest selections
عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammad
upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ بَارَكْتَ وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ
kamaa sallayta wa baarakta wa tarahhamt
just as You blessed, graced, and showed mercy
عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَ اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ
a’laa ibraaheema wa aale ibraaheem
unto Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim;
اِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ
innaka hameedun majeed
surely You are Praiseworthy, All-Glorious.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعْطِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيْلَةَ الْعُظْمٰى
allaahumma a-a’te mohammadanil waseelatal u’zmaa
O Allah, grant Muhammad the ultimate means of near station (al-Wasilah)
وَ كَرِيْمَ جَزَائِكَ فِيْ الْعُقْبٰى
wa kareema jazaa-eka fil u’qbaa
and the noble reward from You in the Hereafter,
حَتّٰى تُشَرِّفَهٗ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَا اِلٰهَ الْهُدٰى
hattaa tosharrefahu yawmal qeyaamate yaa elaahal hodaa
so that You honor him on the Day of Resurrection, O God of guidance!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ مَلَائِكَتِكَ وَ اَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ
wa a’laa jamee-e’ malaa-ekateka wa anbeyaa-eka wa rosolek
and upon all Your angels, Your prophets, and Your messengers.
سَلَامٌ عَلٰى جَبْرَئِيْلَ وَ مِيْكَائِيْلَ وَ اِسْرَافِيْلَ
salaamun a’laa jibra-eela wa meekaa-eela wa israafeel
Peace be upon Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil,
وَ حَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ وَ مَلَائِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ
wa hamalatil a’rshe wa malaa-ekatekal moqarrabeen
and upon the bearers of the Throne and Your proximate angels,
وَ الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِيْنَ وَ الْكَرُوْبِيِّيْنَ
wal keraamal kaatebeena wal karoobiyyeen
and the noble recording scribes, and the Cherubim;
وَ سَلَامٌ عَلٰى مَلَائِكَتِكَ اَجْمَعِيْنَ
wa salaamun a’laa malaa-ekateka ajma-e’en
peace be upon all Your angels together;
وَ سَلَامٌ عَلٰى اَبِيْنَا اٰدَمَ، وَ عَلٰى اُمِّنَا حَوَّاءَ
wa salaamun a’laa abeenaa aadama, wa a’laa ummenaa hawwaa’
peace be upon our father Adam and upon our mother Eve;
وَ سَلَامٌ عَلٰى النَّبِيِّيْنَ اَجْمَعِيْنَ
wa salaamun a’lan nabiyyeena ajma-e’en
peace be upon all the prophets,
وَ الصِّدِّيقِيْنَ وَ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ
was siddeeqeena wash shohadaa-e was saaleheen
and the truthful ones, the martyrs, and the righteous;
وَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ اَجْمَعِيْنَ
wa salaamun a’lal mursaleena ajma-e’en
peace be upon all the messengers;
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
wal hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameen
and all praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil a’liyyil a’zeem
There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Exalted, the Supreme.
وَ حَسْبِيَ اللهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ
wa hasbeyal laaho wa ne’mal wakeel
Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهٖ وَ سَلَّمَ كَثِيْرًا
wa sallal laaho a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi wa sallama kaseeraa
And may Allah bless Muhammad and his family and grant them peace abundantly.
