Sahifa Imam Baqir (as) - Section 9

Part 5 — Supplications for Needs (Ḥājāt) and Requests
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ الْأَعْظَمِ
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka bi‑ismika al‑ʿaẓīmi al‑aʿẓam
O Allah, I ask You by Your Great, Greatest Name.
الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيتَ بِهِ أَجَبْتَ
Alladhī idhā duʿīta bihi ajabta
The One by which, when You are called, You respond.
وَإِذَا سُئِلْتَ بِهِ أَعْطَيْتَ
Wa idhā suʾilta bihi aʿṭayta
And when You are asked, You give.
أَنْ تَقْضِيَ لِي حَاجَتِي
An taqḍiya lī ḥājatī
That You fulfill for me my need.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَفْتَقِرُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِّي
Allāhumma innī aftaqiru ilayk wa anta ghaniyyun ʿannī
O Allah, I am in need of You, while You are independent of me.
فَإِنْ لَمْ تَقْضِ حَاجَتِي فَمَنْ يَقْضِيهَا؟
Fa‑in lam taqḍi ḥājatī fa‑man yaqḍīhā?
If You do not fulfill my need, then who will fulfill it?
وَإِنْ لَمْ تَرْحَمْنِي فَمَنْ يَرْحَمُنِي؟
Wa in lam tarḥamnī fa‑man yarḥamnī?
And if You do not have mercy on me, then who will have mercy on me?
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا فَارِجَ الْهَمِّ وَيَا كَاشِفَ الْغَمِّ
Allāhumma yā fārija al‑hamm wa yā kāshifa al‑ghamm
O Allah, O Reliever of distress, O Remover of grief.
وَيَا مُجِيبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّينَ
Wa yā mujība daʿwati al‑muḍṭarrīn
O Responder to the supplication of the distressed.
ارْحَمْنِي وَاقْضِ حَاجَتِي
Irḥamnī wa iqḍi ḥājatī
Have mercy on me and fulfill my need.
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَحْجُبْ دُعَائِي عَنْكَ
Allāhumma lā taḥjub duʿāʾī ʿank
O Allah, do not veil my supplication from You.
وَلَا تَرُدَّ مَسْأَلَتِي
Wa lā tarudda masʾalatī
And do not reject my request.
وَلَا تُخَيِّبْ أَمَلِي
Wa lā tukhayyib amalī
And do not disappoint my hope.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حَاجَةً قَدْ ضَاقَتْ بِهَا صُدُورِي
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka ḥājah qad ḍāqat bihā ṣudūrī
O Allah, I ask You for a need — my chest has become constricted because of it.
وَقَلَّتْ فِيهَا حِيلَتِي وَضَعُفَتْ عَنْهَا قُوَّتِي
Wa qallat fīhā ḥīlatī wa ḍaʿufat ʿanhā quwwatī
My means regarding it have diminished, and my strength concerning it has weakened.
فَاقْضِهَا لِي يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Faqḍihā lī yā Rabba al‑ʿālamīn
So fulfill it for me, O Lord of all worlds.
