Sahifa Imam Baqir (as) - Section 7
Section Part
Part 3 — Supplications for Goodness and Well‑being (Khair and ʿĀfiyah)
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka al‑ʿāfiyah fī ad‑dunyā wa al‑ākhirah
O Allah, I ask You for well‑being in this world and the Hereafter.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ تَمَامَ الْعَافِيَةِ
Wa asʾaluka tamāma al‑ʿāfiyah
And I ask You for complete well‑being.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ شُكْرَ الْعَافِيَةِ
Wa asʾaluka shukra al‑ʿāfiyah
And I ask You for gratitude for well‑being.
وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْغِنَى عَنِ النَّاسِ
Wa asʾaluka al‑ghinā ʿani an‑nās
And I ask You for independence from people.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka mina al‑khayri kullih, ʿājilihi wa ājilihi
O Allah, I ask You for all good — its immediate and its delayed.
مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ
Mā ʿalimtu minhu wa mā lam aʿlam
What I know of it and what I do not know.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ
Wa aʿūdhu bika mina ash‑sharri kullih, ʿājilihi wa ājilihi
And I seek refuge in You from all evil — its immediate and its delayed.
مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ
Mā ʿalimtu minhu wa mā lam aʿlam
What I know of it and what I do not know.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka al‑hudā wa at‑tuqā wa al‑ʿafāf wa al‑ghinā
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, God‑consciousness, chastity, and sufficiency.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ
Allāhumma ikfinī bi‑ḥalālika ʿan ḥarāmika
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful against Your unlawful.
وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Wa aghninī bi‑faḍlika ʿamman siwāk
And make me independent through Your bounty from all besides You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي
Allāhumma iḥfaẓnī min bayni yadayya wa min khalfī
O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me.
وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي
Wa ʿan yamīnī wa ʿan shimālī wa min fawqī
From my right and from my left, and from above me.
وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي
Wa aʿūdhu bi‑ʿaẓamatika an ughtāla min taḥtī
And I seek refuge in Your Majesty from being taken unaware from beneath me.
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِسَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي وَقُوَّتِي مَا أَحْيَيْتَنِي
Allāhumma mattiʿnī bi‑samʿī wa baṣarī wa quwwatī mā aḥyaytanī
O Allah, grant me enjoyment through my hearing, my sight, and my strength so long as You keep me alive.
وَاجْعَلْهُ الْوَارِثَ مِنِّي
Wa ijʿalhu al‑wāritha minnī
And make it the inheritor from me.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الْخَاتِمَةِ
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka ḥusna al‑khātimah
O Allah, I ask You for a good ending.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ سُوءِ الْخَاتِمَةِ
Wa aʿūdhu bika min sūʾi al‑khātimah
And I seek refuge in You from a bad ending.
