يَا حَاشِيَ الْعِزِّ قُلُوبَ أَهْلِ التَّقْوَى، وَيَا مُتَوَلِّيَهُمْ بِحُسْنِ سَرَائِرِهِمْ …
Yā ḥāshiya al‑ʿizzi qulūba ahl at‑taqwā, wa yā mutawallīyahum bi‑ḥusni sarāʾirihim …
O One who encompasses with might the hearts of the people of taqwā, O One who takes charge of them through the goodness of their inner states …
اَللّٰهُمَّ زَيِّنِّي بِزِينَةِ الصَّالِحِينَ
Allāhumma zayyinnī bi‑zīnat aṣ‑ṣāliḥīn
O Allah, adorn me with the adornment of the righteous.
وَأَلْبِسْنِي زِينَةَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Wa albisnī zīnata al‑muttaqīn
And clothe me with the adornment of the God‑conscious.
فِي بَسْطِ الْعَدْلِ وَكَظْمِ الْغَيْظِ وَإِطْفَاءِ النَّائِرَةِ
Fī basṭ al‑ʿadli wa kaẓmi al‑ghayẓ wa iṭfāʾ an‑nāʾirah
In spreading justice, restraining anger, and extinguishing hostility.
وَضَمِّ أَهْلِ الْفُرْقَةِ وَإِصْلَاحِ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ
Wa ḍammi ahl al‑furqah wa iṣlāḥi dhāti al‑bayn
And uniting the people of division and reconciling between those at odds.
وَإِفْشَاءِ الْعَارِفَةِ وَسَتْرِ الْعَائِبَةِ
Wa ifshāʾ al‑ʿārifah wa satri al‑ʿāʾibah
And spreading goodness and concealing faults.
وَلِينِ الْعَرِيكَةِ وَخَفْضِ الْجَنَاحِ
Wa līni al‑ʿarīkah wa khafḍ al‑janāḥ
And gentleness of disposition and humility.
وَحُسْنِ السِّيرَةِ وَسُكُونِ الرِّيحِ
Wa ḥusni as‑sīrah wa sukūni ar‑rīḥ
And excellence in conduct and calmness of temperament.
وَطِيبِ الْمُخَالَقَةِ وَالسَّبْقِ إِلَى الْفَضِيلَةِ
Wa ṭībi al‑mukhālaqah wa as‑sabqi ilā al‑faḍīlah
And goodness in interaction and hastening toward virtue.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ سَرِيرَتِي خَيْرًا مِنْ عَلَانِيَتِي
Allāhumma ijʿal sarīratī khayran min ʿalāniyatī
O Allah, make my inner state better than my outward state.
وَاجْعَلْ عَلَانِيَتِي صَالِحَةً
Wa ijʿal ʿalāniyatī ṣāliḥah
And make my outward state righteous.
وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أُعْطُوا شَكَرُوا
Wa ijʿalnī mina alladhīna idhā uʿṭū shakarū
And make me among those who, when given, are grateful.
وَإِذَا ابْتُلُوا صَبَرُوا
Wa idhā ubtulū ṣabarū
And when tested, are patient.
وَإِذَا أَذْنَبُوا اسْتَغْفَرُوا
Wa idhā adhnabū istaghfarū
And when they sin, seek forgiveness.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min nafsin lā tashbaʿ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a soul that is not satisfied.
وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ
Wa min qalbin lā yakhshaʿ
And from a heart that does not humble itself.
وَمِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ
Wa min ʿilmin lā yanfaʿ
And from knowledge that does not benefit.
وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ
Wa min duʿāʾin lā yusmaʿ
And from a supplication that is not heard.
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَرُدَّنِي خَائِبًا
Allāhumma lā taruddannī khāʾiban
O Allah, do not return me disappointed.
وَلَا تُخَيِّبْ رَجَائِي
Wa lā tukhayyib rajāʾī
And do not frustrate my hope.
وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ أَبَدًا
Wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿaynin abadan
And do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye — ever.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَحَبِّ عِبَادِكَ إِلَيْكَ
Allāhumma ijʿalnī min aḥabbi ʿibādika ilayk
O Allah, make me among the most beloved of Your servants to You.
وَأَقْرَبِهِمْ مَنْزِلَةً لَدَيْكَ
Wa aqrabihim manzilah ladayk
And the nearest of them in rank to You.
وَأَخْلَصِهِمْ فِي طَاعَتِكَ
Wa akhlaṣihim fī ṭāʿatik
And the most sincere of them in obedience to You.
