Sahifa Imam Baqir (as) - Section 2
Allāhumma laka al‑ḥamdu bi‑maḥāmidika kullihā
O Allah, to You belongs all praise — with all Your forms of praise.
ʿAlā jamīʿi niʿamika kullihā
For all Your blessings — entirely.
Ḥattā yantahī al‑ḥamdu ilā mā tuḥibbu rabbanā wa tarḍā
Until praise reaches that which You love, our Lord, and are pleased with.
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka khayra mā arjū
O Allah, I ask You for the good of what I hope for.
Wa khayra mā lā arjū
And the good of what I do not hope for.
Wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā aḥdhar
And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I fear.
Wa min sharri mā lā aḥdhar
And from the evil of what I do not fear.
Allāhumma laka al‑ḥamdu kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīh
O Allah, to You belongs abundant praise, pure and blessed within it.
Kamā yanbaghī laka an tuḥmad
As is fitting that You be praised.
Wa kamā yanbaghī li‑karami wajhika wa ʿizzi jalālik
And as is befitting the nobility of Your Face and the might of Your Majesty.
Al‑ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī anjā bī al‑yawma nasamatan mina an‑nār
All praise belongs to Allah — who has saved through me today a soul from the Fire.
Al‑ḥamdu lillāhi muḥayyithi al‑ḥayth, wa mukayyifi al‑kayf, wa muʾayyini al‑ayn
All praise belongs to Allah — the One who determines the “where,” defines the “how,” and assigns the “place.”
Al‑ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī lā taʾkhudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm
All praise belongs to Allah — the One whom neither drowsiness overtakes nor sleep.
Lahu mā fī as‑samāwāti wa mā fī al‑arḍ
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi‑idhnih
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is before them and what is behind them.
Wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi‑shayʾin min ʿilmihi illā bi‑mā shāʾ
They do not encompass anything of His knowledge except what He wills.
Wasiʿa kursiyyuhu as‑samāwāti wa al‑arḍ
His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth.
Wa lā yaʾūduhu ḥifẓuhumā
Preserving them does not burden Him.
Wa huwa al‑ʿaliyyu al‑ʿaẓīm
And He is the Most High, the Magnificent.

All praise belongs to Allah — we praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and seek refuge in Him from the evils …
