السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْبَاقِرُ لِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-bāqiru li-ilmillāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who opened the knowledge of Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْفَاحِصُ عَنْ دِينِ اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-fāḥiṣu an dīnillāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who denotes the religion of Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُبَيِّنُ لِحُكْمِ اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-mubayyinu li-ḥukmillāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who demonstrates the laws of Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْقَائِمُ بِقِسْطِ اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-qā'imu bi-qisṭillāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who maintains the justice of Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّاصِحُ لِعِبَادِ اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-nāṣiḥu li-ibādillāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who sincerely advises the servants of Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الدَّاعِي إِلَى اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-dāī ilallāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who calls to Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الدَّلِيلُ إِلَى اللَّهِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-dalīlu ilallāh.
Peace be upon you; O one who guides to Allah!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْفَضْلُ الْمُبِينُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-faḍlul-mubīn.
Peace be upon you; O evident grace!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النُّورُ السَّاطِعُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-nūrus-sāṭi.
Peace be upon you; O glaring light!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْبَدْرُ اللَّامِعُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-badrul-lāmi.
Peace be upon you; O brilliant full moon!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْحَقُّ الْأَبْلَجُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-ḥaqqul-ablaj.
Peace be upon you; O palpable truth!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا السِّرَاجُ الْأَسْرَجُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhas-sirājul-asraj.
Peace be upon you; O shining lantern!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّجْمُ الْأَزْهَرُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhan-najmul-azhar.
Peace be upon you; O luminous star!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْكَوْكَبُ الْأَبْهَرُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-kawkabul-abhar.
Peace be upon you; O dazzling celestial body!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُنَزَّهُ عَنِ الْمُعْضِلَاتِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-munazzahu anil-muḍilāt.
Peace be upon you; O one protected !
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمَعْصُومُ مِنَ الزَّلَّاتِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-maṣūmu minal-zalāt.
Peace be upon you; O one protected against slips!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الزَّكِيُّ فِي الْحَسَبِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhaz-zakiyyu fil-ḥasab.
Peace be upon you; O one of immaculate lineage!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الرَّفِيعُ فِي النَّسَبِ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhar-rafīu fin-nasab.
Peace be upon you; O one of lofty roots!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الشَّفِيقُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-imāmush-shafīq.
Peace be upon you; O benevolent Imam
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْقَصْرُ الْمَشِيدُ
As-salāmu alayka ayyuhal-qaṣrul-mashīd.
Peace be upon you O fortress?
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ
As-salāmu alayka yā ḥujjatal-lāhi alal-khalqi ajmaīn.
Peace be upon you; O Allah's proof against all of His creatures!
أَشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلَايَ أَنَّكَ قَدْ صَدَعْتَ الْحَقَّ صَدْعاً
Ashhadu yā mawlāya annaka qad ṣadatal-ḥaqqa ṣadā,
bear witness, O my master, that you verily expounded the right openly,
وَبَقَرْتَ الْعِلْمَ بَقْراً
Wa baqartal-ilma baqrā,
and split the knowledge with thorough splitting,
وَنَثَرْتَهُ نَثْراً
Wa nathartahu nathrā,
and dispersed it scatteredly!
لَمْ تَأْخُذْكَ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لَائِمٍ
Lam ta'khudhka fillāhi lawmatu lā'im,
In the way of Allah, you were not taken by the blame of any blamer!
وَكُنْتَ لِدِينِ اللَّهِ مُكَاتِماً
Wa kunta li-dīnillāhi mukātimā,
and You established the religion of Allah
وَقَضَيْتَ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ
Wa qaḍayta mā kāna alayk,
and fulfilled what had been incumbent upon you,
أَخْرَجْتَ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ مِنْ وِلَايَةِ غَيْرِ اللَّهِ إِلَى وِلَايَةِ اللَّهِ
Wa akhrajta awliyā'aka min wilāyati ghayrillāhi ilā wilāyatillāh,
and took your followers out of the loyalty to other than Allah to the loyalty to Allah,
وَأَمَرْتَ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ
Wa amarta bi-ṭāatillāh,
and you enjoined obedience to Allah,
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنْ مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ
Wa nahayta an maṣiyatillāh,
and you forbade disobedience to Allah,
حَتَّى قَبَضَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَى رِضْوَانِهِ
Ḥattā qabaḍakallāhu ilā riḍwānih,
Until He took you to His pleasure
وَذَهَبَ بِكَ إِلَى دَارِ كَرَامَتِهِ
Wa dhahaba bika ilā dāri karāmatih,
and moved you to the abode of His honouring
وَإِلَى مَسَاكِنِ أَصْفِيَائِهِ
Wa ilā masākini aṣfiyā'ih,
and to the houses of His elite ones
وَمُجَاوَرَةِ أَوْلِيَائِهِ
Wa mujāwarati awliyā'ih.
and to the vicinity of His intimate servants
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Was-salāmu alayka wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا إِمَامَ الْهُدَىٰ
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Imām al-Hudā
Peace be upon you, O Leader of Guidance.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَدْرَ الدُّجَىٰ
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Badra ad-Dujā
Peace be upon you, O Full Moon of Darkness.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا كَهْفَ التُّقَىٰ
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Kahfa at-Tuqā
Peace be upon you, O Refuge of Piety.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا قَائِدَ أَهْلِ التَّقْوَىٰ
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Qā'ida Ahl at-Taqwā
Peace be upon you, O Leader of the People of Piety.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَاقِرَ عِلْمِ النَّبِيِّينَ
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Bāqira 'Ilm an-Nabiyyīn
Peace be upon you, O Discloser of the Knowledge of the Prophets.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا زَيْنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِينَ،
As-salāmu 'alayka yā Zayna as-Samāwāti wal-Arḍīn
Peace be upon you, O Adornment of the Heavens and the Earths.
اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا جَعَلْتَهُ عَلَمًا
Allāhumma kamā ja'altahu 'alaman
O Allah, just as You made him a beacon,
لِعِبَادِكَ وَمُسْتَوْدَعًا لِحِلْمِكَ وَمُتَرْجِمًا
li-'ibādika wa mustawda'an li-ḥilmika wa mutarjimā
for Your servants, and a repository for Your clemency, and an interpreter
لِوَحْيِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ أَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ
li-waḥyika fa-ṣalli 'alayhi afḍala mā ṣallayta
of Your revelation, so send Your blessings upon him the best of what You have blessed
عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَأَصْفِيَائِكَ
'alā aḥadin min dhurriyyati anbiyā'ika wa aṣfiyā'ika
upon any of the progeny of Your prophets, and Your chosen ones,
وَرُسُلِكَ وَأُمَنَائِكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
wa rusulika wa umanā'ika yā Rabba al-'Ālamīn
and Your messengers, and Your trustworthy ones, O Lord of the Worlds.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadi ibni `aliyyin
O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad the son of `Ali
بَاقِرِ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَإِمَامِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ
baqiri al`ilmi wa imami alhuda
the splitter of knowledge, the leader to true guidance,
وَقَائِدِ أَهْلِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ
wa qa'idi ahli alttaqwai
the chief of the people of piety,
وَٱلْمُنْتَجَبِ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ
walmuntajabi min `ibadika
and the superbly selected from among Your servants.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَكَمَا جَعَلْتَهُ عَلَماً لِعِبَادِكَ
allahumma wa kama ja`altahu `alaman li`ibadika
O Allah, as You have made him sign for Your servants,
وَمَنَاراً لِبِلاَدِكَ
wa manaran libiladika
lantern in Your lands,
وَمُسْتَوْدَعاً لِحِكْمَتِكَ
wa mustawda`an lihikmatika
depot of Your wisdom,
وَمُتَرْجِماً لِوَحْيِكَ
wa mutarjiman liwahyika
and interpreter of Your revelations,
وَأَمَرْتَ بِطَاعَتِهِ
wa amarta bita`atihi
and You ordered (us) to obey him,
وَحَذَّرْتَ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِهِ
wa hadhdharta `an ma`siyatihi
warned (us) against disobeying him;
فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ يَا رَبِّ
fasalli `alayhi ya rabbi
so also (please), O Lord, send blessings upon him
أَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ
afdala ma sallayta `ala ahadin
with the most excellent blessings that You have ever sent upon any
مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ أَنْبِيَاءِكَ وَأَصْفِيَاءِكَ
min dhurriyyati anbiya'ika wa asfiya'ika
of the offspring of Your Prophets, Elite Ones,
وَرُسُلِكَ وَأُمَنَائِكَ
wa rusulika wa umana'ika
Messengers, and trustees.
يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ
ya rabba al`alamina
O Lord of the worlds!
