بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيْمِ
Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim
"In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful."
فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
Faman haaajjaka feehi mim ba’di maa jaaa’aka minal ‘ilmi faqul ta’aalaw nad’u abnaaa’anaa wa abnaaa’akum wa nisaaa’anaa wa nisaaa’akum wa anfusanaa wa anfusakum summa nabtahil fanaj’al la’natal laahi ‘alal kaazibeen
“To those that argue with you concerning Jesus after the knowledge you have received say: ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. We will pray together and call down the curse of Allah on every liar’.”(Quran 3:61)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ فاطِرِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ
Alhamdu lillahi rabbi-l-alamin, fatiri-s-samawati wa-l-ard, wa-l-hamdu lillahi-lladhi lahu ma fi-s-samawati wa-l-ard.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, Originator of the heavens and the earth. And praise be to Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ وَ جَعَلَ الظُّلُماتِ وَ النُّورَ
Wa-l-hamdu lillahi-lladhi khalaqa-s-samawati wa-l-arda wa jaala-z-zulumati wa-n-nur.
And praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَرِّفْنِي مَا كُنْتُ بِهِ جَاهِلًا وَ لَوْ لَا تَعْرِيفُكَ إِيَّايَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ
Alhamdu lillahi-lladhi arrafani ma kuntu bihi jahila, wa law la tarifuka iyyaya lakuntu mina-l-halikin.
Praise be to God who taught me what I was ignorant of. Were it not due to Your Teaching, I would have been of the ruined ones.
إِذْ قُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُ قُلْ لا أَسْئَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْراً إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبى فَبَيَّنْتَ لِيَ الْقَرَابَةَ
Idh qulta wa qawluka-l-haqq: "Qul la as'alukum alayhi ajran illa-l-mawaddata fi-l-qurba", fa-bayyanta liya-l-qarabah.
When You said—and indeed Your word is the truth—"Say, 'I do not ask you for any reward for it except love for my near of kin,'" and thus You made clear to me who the near of kin are.
وَ قُلْتَ إِنَّما يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَ يُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيراً
Innama yuridu-llahu liyudhhiba ankumu-r-rijsa ahla-l-bayti wa yutahhirakum tathira.
And You said: "Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, O members of the Family, and to purify you with a thorough purification."
فَبَيَّنْتَ لِيَ الْبَيْتَ بَعْدَ الْقَرَابَةِ ثُمَّ قُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ بِتَفَضُّلِكَ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ وَ أَرَدْتَ مَعْرِفَتَهُمْ بِالْبَيْتِ وَ الْقَرَابَةِ
Fa-bayyanta liya-l-bayta bada-l-qarabati thumma qulta wa qawluka-l-haqqu bi-tafaddulika ala khalqika wa aradta marifatahum bi-l-bayti wa-l-qarabah.
Thus You clarified for me the "Family" after clarifying the "near of kin". Then You said—and Your word is the truth through Your grace upon Your creation, intending for them to recognize them through the Family and kinship:
فَقُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُ فَقُلْ تَعالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْناءَنا وَ أَبْناءَكُمْ وَ نِساءَنا وَ نِساءَكُمْ وَ أَنْفُسَنا وَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَلْ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكاذِبِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ
Fa-qulta wa qawluka-l-haqq: "Faqul taalaw nadu abna'ana wa abna'akum wa nisa'ana wa nisa'akum wa anfusanda wa anfusakum thumma nabtahil fanaj'al lanata-llahi ala-l-kadhibin" min badi dhalik.
You said—and Your word is the truth—"Say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray fervently and invoke the curse of Allah upon those who lie'" after that.
فَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ يَا رَبِّ وَ لَكَ الْمَنُّ حَيْثُ هَدَيْتَنِي وَ أَرْشَدْتَنِي حَتَّى لَمْ يَخْفَ عَلَيَّ الْأَهْلُ وَ الْبَيْتُ وَ الْقَرَابَةُ حَتَّى عَرَّفْتَنِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ وَ رِجَالَهُمْ
Fa-laka-sh-shukru ya rabbi wa laka-l-mannu haythu hadaytani wa arshadtani hatta lam yakhfa aliya-l-ahlu wa-l-baytu wa-l-qarabatu hatta arraftani nisa'ahum wa awladahum wa rijalahum.
O Lord! Thanks to You, and to You belongs all favor since You guided me and directed me such that the Family, the Household, and the near of kin were not hidden from me, and You let me know their women, their children, and their men.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيْكَ بِذَلِكَ الْمَقَامِ الَّذِي لَا يَكُونُ أَعْظَمَ فَضْلًا لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ لَا أَكْثَرَ رَحْمَةً بِمَعْرِفَتِكَ إِيَّاهُمْ وَ إِخْرَاجِهِمْ عَنِ الشُّبُهَاتِ فَلَوْ لَا هَذَا
Allahumma inni ataqarrabu ilayka bi-dhalika-l-maqami-lladhi la yakunu azama fadlan lil-muminina wa la akthara rahmatan bi-marifatika iyyahum wa ikhrajihim ani-sh-shubuhati falaw la hadha...
O my God! I seek nearness to You through that station, greater than which there is no bounty for the believers, nor a more abundant mercy, by granting me knowledge of them and extracting them from all doubts. Were it not for this—
الْمَقَامُ الْمَحْمُودُ الَّذِي أَنْقَذْتَنَا وَ دَلَلْتَنَا إِلَى اتِّبَاعِ الْمُحَقِّقِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ نَبِيِّكَ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ
...al-maqamu-l-mahmudu-lladhi anqadhanā wa dalaltana ila-ttiba'i-l-muhaqqiqina min ahli bayti nabiyyika wa itratih,
—this praised station by which You saved us and directed us to follow the verifiers from the Household of Your Prophet and his progeny,
الصَّادِقِينَ عَنْكَ الَّذِينَ عَصَمْتَهُمْ مِنْ لَغْوِ الْمَقَالِ وَ مَدَانِسِ الْأَفْعَالِ لِخَصْمِ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ ظَهَرَتْ كَلِمَةُ أَهْلِ الْإِلْحَادِ وَ فِعْلِ أُولِي الْعِنَادِ
as-sadiqina anka-lladhina asamtahum min laghwi-l-maqali wa madanisi-l-afali likhashmi ahli-l-islami wa zaharat kalimatu ahli-l-ilhadi wa fili uli-l-inad.
the truthful ones on Your behalf, whom You protected from vain speech and the defilements of actions—the people of Islam would have been defeated, and the word of the people of heresy and the actions of the stubborn adversaries would have triumphed.
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ الْمَنُّ وَ الشُّكْرُ عَلَى نَعْمَائِكَ وَ أَيَادِيكَ
Fa-laka-l-hamdu wa-l-mannu wa-sh-shukru ala nama'ika wa ayadik.
So to You belongs all praise, favor, and gratitude for Your bounties and Your continuous support.
اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الَّذِينَ افْتَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنَا طَاعَتَهُمْ وَ ثَبِّتْنَا بِالْقَوْلِ الَّذِي عَرَّفُونَا
Allahumma fa-salli ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadini-lladhina ftaradta alayna taatahum wa thabbitna bi-l-qawli-lladhi arrafuna.
O my God! Please bestow Your blessings on Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, those whose obedience You made incumbent upon us, and make us steadfast in the words they taught us.
وَ اجْزِ مُحَمَّداً وَ آلَهُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ مِنَّا أَفْضَلَ الْجَزَاءِ وَ أَدْخِلْنَا فِي شَفَاعَتِهِمْ دَارَ كَرَامَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Wa-jzi muhammadan wa alahu alayhimu-s-salamu minna afdala-l-jaza'i wa adkhilna fi shafaatihim dara karamatika ya arhama-r-rahimin.
And reward Muhammad and his progeny (peace be upon them) from us with the best of rewards, and include us through their intercession in Your Abode of Nobility, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ الْكِسَاءِ وَ الْعَبَاءِ يَوْمَ الْمُبَاهَلَةِ وَ مَنْ دَخَلَ مِنَ الْإِنْسِ وَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ اجْعَلْهُمْ شُفَعَاءَنَا
Allahumma ha'ula'i ahlu-l-kisa'i wa-l-aba'i yawma-l-mubahalati wa man dakhala mina-l-insi wa-l-mala'ikati-l-muqarrabina-jalhum shufaa'ana.
O my God! These are the People of the Cloak and the Garment on the Day of Mubahala (Mutual Invocation), and whoever entered among humans and the near-stationed angels; please make them our intercessors.
أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ ذَلِكَ الْمَقَامِ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَ تَرْحَمَنِي وَ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
As'aluka bi-haqqi dhalika-l-maqami an taghfira li wa tarhamani wa tatuba alayya innaka anta-t-tawwabu-r-rahim.
I ask You by the right of that station to forgive me, have mercy on me, and accept my repentance. Verily, You are the Ever-Relenting, the Merciful!
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّ أَرْوَاحَهُمْ وَ طِينَتَهُمْ وَاحِدَةٌ وَ هُمُ الشَّجَرَةُ الَّتِي طَابَ أَصْلُهَا وَ أَغْصَانُهَا وَ أَوْرَاقُهَا
Allahumma inni ushhiduka anna arwahahum wa tinatahum wahidatun wa humu-sh-shajaratu-llati taba asluha wa agsanuha wa awraquha.
O my God! I take You as witness that their spirits and their essence are one, and they are the tree whose root, branches, and leaves are pure and wholesome.
اللَّهُمَّ فَارْحَمْنَا بِحَقِّهِمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَقَمْتَهُمْ حُجَجاً عَلَى خَلْقِكَ وَ دَلَائِلَ عَلَى مَا يُسْتَدَلُّ بِوَحْدَانِيَّتِكَ وَ بَاباً إِلَى الْمُعْجِزَاتِ بِعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي يَعْجِزُ عَنْهُ الْخَلْقُ غَيْرُهُمْ
Allahumma fa-rhamna bi-haqqihim fa-innaka aqamtahum hujajan ala khalqika wa dala'ila ala ma yustadallu bi-wahdaniyyatika wa baban ila-l-mujizati bi-ilmika-lladhi yajizu anhu-l-khalqu ghayruhum.
O my God! Please have mercy on us for their sake, for indeed You established them as proofs over Your creation, indicators pointing to Your Oneness, and a gateway to miracles through Your knowledge that creatures other than them are unable to attain.
وَ أَنْتَ الْمُتَفَضِّلُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَيْثُ أَقَمْتَهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ خَلْقِكَ وَ نَقَلْتَهُمْ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ فَجَعَلْتَهُمْ مُطَهَّرِينَ أُصُولًا وَ فُرُوعاً وَ مُبِيناً
Wa anta-l-mutafaddilu alayhim haythu aqamtahum min bayni khalqika wa naqaltahum min ibadika fa-jaaltahum mutahharina usulan wa furuan wa mubina.
And You are the One Who bestowed grace upon them, as You chose them from among Your creation and distinguished them from Your worshippers, making them pure in their roots, branches, and manifest station.
ثُمَّ أَكْرَمْتَهُمْ بِنُورِكَ حَتَّى فَضَّلْتَهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَهْلِ زَمَانِهِمْ وَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَخَصَصْتَهُمْ بِوَحْيِكَ وَ أَنْزَلْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابَكَ وَ أَمَرْتَنَا بِالتَّمَسُّكِ بِهِمَا
Thumma akramtahum bi-nurika hatta faddaltahum min bayni ahli zamanihim wa-l-aqrabina ilayhim fa-khasasstahum bi-wahyika wa anzalta alayhim kitabaka wa amartana bi-t-tamassuki bihima.
Then You honored them with Your Light so that You preferred them over the people of their era and those closest to them; You singled them out for Your revelation, sent down Your Book to them, and ordered us to adhere to both of them.
اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّا قَدْ تَمَسَّكْنَا بِكِتَابِكَ وَ بِعِتْرَةِ نَبِيِّكَ الَّذِينَ أَقَمْتَهُمْ لَنَا دَلِيلًا وَ عَلَماً وَ أَمَرْتَنَا بِاتِّبَاعِهِمْ
Allahumma fa-inna qad tamassakna bi-kitabika wa bi-itrati nabiyyika-lladhina aqamtahum lana dalilan wa alaman wa amartana bi-ttiba'ihim.
O my God! We indeed adhere to Your Book and to the Progeny of Your Prophet, whom You established for us as a guide and a sign, and ordered us to follow them.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا قَدْ تَمَسَّكْنَا فَارْزُقْنَا شَفَاعَتُهُمْ حِينَ يَقُولُ الْخَاطِئُونَ فَما لَنا مِنْ شافِعِينَ وَ لا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
Allāhumma inna qad tamassakna fa-rzuqna shafaatahum hina yaqulu-l-khati'un: "Fama lana min shafi'ina wa la sadiqin hamim".
O my God! Indeed we adhere, so grant us their intercession on the Day when the wrongdoers will say: "So we have no intercessors, nor a warm friend."
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ بِهِمْ وَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ لِشَفَاعَتِهِمْ وَ لَا تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Allahumma-jalna mina-s-sadiqina bihim wa-l-muntazirina li-shafaatihim wa la tudillana bada idh hadaytana, amina rabba-l-alamin.
O my God! Make us among those who are truthful [in believing in them] and those who await their intercession, and do not let us go astray after You have guided us. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
This supplication recorded in Shaykh al-Tusi’s book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid and reported from Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him):
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ بَهَائِكَ بِأَبْهَاهُ
allahumma inni as'aluka min baha'ika bi-abhahu
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your brilliance that beautifies,
وَكُلُّ بَهَائِكَ بَهِيٌّ
wa kullu baha'ika bahiyyun
and all Your glories are radiantly brilliant.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِبَهَائِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bibaha'ika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your glories.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ جَلاَلِكَ بِأَجَلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min jalalika bi-ajallihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your majesty that gives grandeur,
وَكُلُّ جَلاَلِكَ جَليلٌ
wa kullu jalalika jalilun
and all Your majestic powers are strongly sublime.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَلاَلِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bijalalika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your powers.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ جَمَالِكَ بِأَجْمَلِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min jamalika bi-ajmalihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your refined good that makes more handsome,
وَكُلُّ جَمَالِكَ جَميلٌ
wa kullu jamalika jamilun
and all Your refinements are gracefully beautiful.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَمَالِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bijamalika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your beauties.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ عَظَمَتِكَ بِأَعْظَمِهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min `azamatika bi-a`zamiha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your greatness that makes great,
وَكُلُّ عَظَمَتِكَ عَظَيمَةٌ
wa kullu `azamatika `azimatun
and all Your powers are extensively important.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعَظَمَتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bi`azamatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your influences.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ نُورِكَ بِأَنْوَرِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min nurika bi-anwarihi
O Allah, I beseech You to give me from Your light that enlightens,
وَكُلُّ نُورِكَ نَيِّرٌ
wa kullu nurika nayyirun
and all Your enlightenments are luminously bright.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka binurika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your lights.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ بِأَوْسَعِهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min rahmatika bi-awsa`iha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your mercy that gives much,
وَكُلُّ رَحْمَتِكَ وَاسِعَةٌ
wa kullu rahmatika wasi`atun
and all Your kind leniencies are plenteously many.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka birahmatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your compassions.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ كَمَالِكَ بِأَكْمَلِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min kamalika bi-akmalihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your perfection that brings to fullness,
وَكُلُّ كَمَالِكَ كَامِلٌ
wa kullu kamalika kamilun
and all Your perfections are total and whole.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَمَالِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bikamalika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your perfections.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ كَلِمَاتِكَ بِأَتَمِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min kalimatika bi-atammiha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your Words that elaborate and conclude;
وَكُلُّ كَلِمَاتِكَ تَامَّةٌ
wa kullu kalimatika tammatun
and all Your words are complete and perfect.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bikalimatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your Words.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ أَسْمَائِكَ بِأَكْبَرِهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min asma'ika bi-akbariha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your Names that make great,
وَكُلُّ أَسْمَائِكَ كَبيرَةٌ
wa kullu asma'ika kabiratun
and all Your Names are important.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَسْمَائِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bi-asma'ika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your Names.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ عِزَّتِكَ بِأَعَزِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min `izzatika bi-a`azziha
O Allah, I beseech You to give me from Your authority that surpasses in honor and power,
وَكُلُّ عِزَّتِكَ عَزيزَةٌ
wa kullu `izzatika `azizatun
and all Your authorities are rare and supreme.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعِزَّتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bi`izzatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your authorities.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ مَشِيَّتِكَ بِأَمْضَاهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min mashiyyatika bi-amdaha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your Will that (simultaneously) takes effect,
وَكُلُّ مَشِيَّتِكَ مَاضِيَةٌ
wa kullu mashiyyatika madiyatun
and all Your wills are (at once) executed.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَشِيَّتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bimashiyyatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your wills.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ ٱلَّتِي ٱسْتَطَلْتَ بِهَا عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
allahumma inni as'aluka min qudratika bilqudrati allati istatalta biha `ala kulli shay'in
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your that omnipotence which controls everything,
وَكُلُّ قُدْرَتِكَ مُسْتَطيلَةٌ
wa kullu qudratika mustatilatun
and at all events Your omnipotence dominates.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka biqudratika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your all-embracing omnipotence.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ عِلْمِكَ بِأَنْفَذِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min `ilmika bi-anfadhihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your Wisdom that pierces through and enforces,
وَكُلُّ عِلْمِكَ نَافِذٌ
wa kullu `ilmika nafidhun
and Your Wisdom is altogether effective.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bi`ilmika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your Wisdom.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ قَوْلِكَ بِأَرْضَاهُ
allahumma inni as'aluka min qawlika bi-ardahu
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your promise which always is fulfilled,
وَكُلُّ قَوْلِكَ رَضِيٌّ
wa kullu qawlika radiyyun
and all Your promises are kept and fulfilled.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِقَوْلِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka biqawlika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your promises.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ مَسَائِلِكَ بِأَحَبِّهَا إِلَيْكَ
allahumma inni as'aluka min masa'ilika bi-ahabbiha ilayka
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your Channels which are most dear to You,
وَكُلُّهَا إِلَيْكَ حَبيبةٌ
wa kullu masa'ilika ilayka habibatun
and all that which is dear to You is most desirable.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَسَائِلِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bimasa'ilika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your Channels.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ شَرَفِكَ بِأَشْرَفِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min sharafika bi-ashrafihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your distinctions that vie in glory,
وَكُلُّ شَرَفِكَ شَريفٌ
wa kullu sharafika sharifun
and all Your distinctions are noble.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِشَرَفِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bisharafika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your distinctions.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ سُلْطَانِكَ بِأَدْوَمِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min sultanika bi-adwamihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your sovereignty which lasts and continues forever,
وَكُلُّ سُلطَانِكَ دَائِمٌ
wa kullu sultanika da'imun
and for all times Your sovereignty is everlasting.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِسُلْطَانِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bisultanika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your absolute sovereignty.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ مُلْكِكَ بِأَفْخَرِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min mulkika bi-afkharihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your kingdom that surpasses in glory and nobility,
وَكُلُّ مُلْكِكَ فَاخِرٌ
wa kullu mulkika fakhirun
and in reality Your kingdom alone is the most celebrated and magnificent.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمُلْكِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bimulkika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your unlimited kingdom.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ عَلاَئِكَ بِأَعْلاَهُ
allahumma inni as'aluka min `ala'ika bi-a`lahu
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your highness that is supreme
وَكُلُّ عَلاَئِكَ عَال
wa kullu `ala'ika `alin
and all Your highness is supreme.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعَلاَئِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bi`ala'ika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all of Your highness.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ آيَاتِكَ بِأَعْجَبِهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka min ayatika bi-a`jabiha
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your signs which are astonishing,
وَكُلُّ آيَاتِكَ عَجيبَةٌ
wa kullu ayatika `ajibatun
and all Your signs are astonishing.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِآيََاتِكَ كُلِّهَا
allahumma inni as'aluka bi-ayatika kulliha
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your signs.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ مَنِّكَ بِأَقْدَمِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min mannika bi-aqdamihi
O Allah, I ask You to give me from Your bounties which always move ahead, come in advance,
وَكُلُّ مَنِّكَ قَديمٌ
wa kullu mannika qadimun
and all Your bounties are eternal.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَنِّكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bimannika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of all Your bounties.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا أَنْتَ فيهِ مِنَ ٱلشُّؤُونِ وَٱلْجَبَرُوتِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bima anta fihi min alshshu'uni waljabaruti
O Allah, I ask You to give me whereby You exercises absolute authorities and power,
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ شَأْنٍ وَكُلِّ جَبَرُوتٍ
wa as'aluka bikulli sha'nin wa kulli jabarutin
I beseech You in the name of (Your) total omnipotence, and total authority.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا تُجيبُنِي بِهِ حينَ أَسْأَلُكَ
allahumma inni as'aluka bima tujibuni bihi hina as'aluka
O Allah, I ask You to give me whereby You gives answer to my supplication whenever I turn to You.
يَا اللَّهُ يَا لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
ya allahu ya la ilaha illa anta
O Allah save Whom there is no god!
أَسْأَلُكَ بِبَهَاءِ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
as'aluka bibaha'i la ilaha illa anta
I beseech You in the name of the brilliance of ‘there is no god save You’.
يَا لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
ya la ilaha illa anta
O He save Whom there is no god,
أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَلاَلِ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
as'aluka bijalali la ilaha illa anta
I beseech You in the name of the majesty of ‘there is no god save You’.
يَا لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
ya la ilaha illa anta
O He save Whom there is no god,
أَسْأَلُكَ بِلاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
as'aluka bila ilaha illa anta
I beseech You in the name of ‘there is no god save You’.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ بِأَعَمِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min rizqika bi-a`ammihi
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me from the most widespread of Your sustenance;
وَكُلُّ رِزْقِكَ عَامُّ
wa kullu rizqika `ammun
and all Your sustenance is widespread.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرِزْقِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka birizqika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your whole sustenance.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ بِأَهْنَئِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min `ata'ika bi-ahna'ihi
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me from the most wholesome of Your bestowal;
وَكُلُّ عَطَائِكَ هَنِيءٌ
wa kullu `ata'ika hani'un
and Your entire bestowal is wholesome.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِعَطَائِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bi`ata'ika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your entire bestowal.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِكَ بِأَعْجَلِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min khayrika bi-a`jalihi
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me from Your most instant welfare;
وَكُلُّ خَيْرِكَ عَاجِلٌ
wa kullu khayrika `ajilun
and Your entire welfare is instant.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِخَيْرِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bikhayrika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your entire welfare.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ بِأَفْضَلِهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika bi-afdalihi
O Allah, I beseech You to grant me from the best of Your favors;
وَكُلُّ فَضْلِكَ فَاضِلٌ
wa kullu fadlika fadilun
and all Your favors are excellent.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِفَضْلِكَ كُلِّهِ
allahumma inni as'aluka bifadlika kullihi
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your whole favor.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي
allahumma inni ad`uka kama amartani
O Allah, I am praying You as You have ordered me to do;
فَٱسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
fastajib li kama wa`adtani
so, please respond to me as You have promised.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَٱبْعَثْنِي عَلَىٰ ٱلإِيـمَانِ بِكَ
wab`athni `ala al-imani bika
and resurrect me carrying belief in You,
وَٱلتَّصْدِيقِ بِرَسُولِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
walttasdiqi brasulika `alayhi wa alihi alssalamu
giving credence to Your Messenger, peace be upon him and his Household,
وَٱلْوِلاَيَةِ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
walwilayati li`aliyyi bni abi talibin
being loyal to `Ali ibn Abi-Talib,
وَٱلْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ
walbara'ati min `aduwwihi
disclaiming his enemies,
وَٱلاِﹾئْتِمَامِ بِٱلأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
wa al-i'timami bil-a'immati min ali muhammadin
and accepting the leadership of the Imams from Muhammad’s Household,
عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
`alayhimu alssalamu
peace be upon them,
فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَضِيتُ بِذٰلِكَ يَا رَبِّ
fa'inni qad raditu bidhalika ya rabbi
for I am pleased with that, O my Lord.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad,
عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ فِي ٱلأَوَّلينَ
`abdika wa rasulika fi al-awwalina
Your servant and Messenger, among the ancient ones,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي ٱلآخِرِينَ
wa salli `ala muhammadin fi al-akhirina
send blessings to Muhammad among the later ones,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي ٱلْمَلأِ ٱلأَعْلَىٰ
wa salli `ala muhammadin fi almala'i al-a`la
send blessings to Muhammad in the Highest Chiefs,
وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
wa salli `ala muhammadin fi almursalina
and send blessings to Muhammad among the Missioned Prophets.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً ٱلْوَسيلَةَ
allahumma a`ti muhammadan alwasilata
O Allah, grant Muhammad [the right of] mediation,
وَٱلشَّرَفَ وَٱلْفَضِيلَةَ
walshsharafa walfadilata
honor, precedence,
وَٱلدَّرَجَةَ ٱلْكَبيرَةَ
walddarajata alkabirata
and great rank.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَقَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي
wa qanni`ni bima razaqtani
make me satisfied with the sustenance You have given me,
وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا آتَيْتَنِي
wa barik li fima a`taytani
bless me in what You have granted me,
وَٱحْفَظْنِي فِي غَيْبَتِي
wahfazni fi ghaybati
safeguard me during my absence [from home],
وَكُلِّ غَائِبٍ هُوَ لِي
wa kulli gha'ibin huwa li
and safeguard every absent one that is related to me.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَٱبْعَثْنِي عَلَىٰ ٱلإِيـمَانِ بِكَ
wab`athni `ala al'imani bika
resurrect me carrying belief in You
وَٱلتَّصْدِيقِ بِرَسُولِكَ
walttasdiqi birasulika
and giving credence to Your Messenger.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَأَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ ٱلْخَيْرِ رِضْوَانَكَ وَٱلْجَنَّةَ
wa as'aluka khayra alkhayri ridwanaka waljannata
and I beseech You for the best of goodness: Your pleasure and Paradise,
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ ٱلشَرِّ سَخَطِكَ وَٱلنَّارِ
wa a`udhu bika min sharri alshsharri sakhatika walnnari
and I pray for Your protecting me against the worst of evil: Your wrath and Hellfire.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَٱحْفَظْنِىٰ مِنْ كُلِّ مُصِيبَةٍ
wahfazni min kulli musibatin
and protect me against every misfortune,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ
wa min kulli baliyyatin
every tribulation,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ عُقُوبَةٍ
wa min kulli `uqubatin
every punishment,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ فِتْنَةٍ
wa min kulli fitnatin
every trial,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ بَلاَءٍ
wa min kulli bala'in
every ordeal,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ
wa min kulli sharrin
every evil,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ مَكْرُوهٍ
wa min kulli makruhin
every mishap,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ مُصِيبَةٍ
wa min kulli musibatin
every misfortune,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ آفَةٍ نَزَلَتْ
wa min kulli afatin nazalat
and every bane that has been caused to descend
أَوْ تَنْزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاءِ إِلَىٰ ٱلأَرْضِ
aw tanzilu min alssama'i ila al-ardi
or will be caused to descend from the heavens to the earth,
فِي هٰذِهِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ
fi hadhihi alssa`ati
at this hour,
وَفِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ
wa fi hadhihi allaylati
at this night,
وَفِي هٰذَا ٱلْيَومِ
wa fi hadha alyawmi
on this day,
وَفِي هٰذَا ٱلشَّهْرِ
wa fi hadha alshshahri
in this month,
وَفِي هٰذِهِ ٱلسَّنَةِ
wa fi hadhihi alssanati
and in this year.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَٱقْسِمْ لِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُرُورٍ
waqsim li min kulli sururin
and grant me part of every pleasure,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ بَهْجَةٍ
wa min kulli bahjatin
every delight,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ ٱسْتِقَامَةٍ
wa min kulli istiqamatin
every uprightness,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ فَرَجٍ
wa min kulli farajin
every relief,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَافِيَةٍ
wa min kulli `afiyatin
every wellbeing,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ سَلاَمَةٍ
wa min kulli salamatin
every safety,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ كَرَامَةٍ
wa min kulli karamatin
every honoring,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ رِزْقٍ وَاسِعٍ
wa min kulli rizqin wasi`in
every sustenance that is expansive,
حَلاَلٍ طَيِّبٍ
halalin tayyibin
legally-gotten, and wholesome,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ
wa min kulli ni`matin
every grace,
وِمَنْ كُلِّ سَعَة نَزَلَتْ
wa min kulli sa`atin nazalat
and every affluence that has been caused to descend
أَوْ تَنْزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاءِ إِلَىٰ ٱلأَرْضِ
aw tanzilu min alssama'i ila al-ardi
or will be caused to descend from the heavens to the earth,
فِي هٰذِهِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ
fi hadhihi alssa`ati
at this hour,
وَفِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ
wa fi hadhihi allaylati
at this night,
وَفِي هٰذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ
wa fi hadha alyawmi
on this day,
وَفِي هٰذَا ٱلشَّهْرِ
wa fi hadha alshshahri
in this month,
وَفِي هٰذِهِ ٱلسَّنَةِ
wa fi hadhihi alssanati
and in this year.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبِي
allahumma in kanat dhunubi
O Allah, if my sins
قَدْ أَخْلَقَتْ وَجْهِي عِنْدَكَ
qad akhlaqat wajhi `indaka
have worn out my face in Your sight,
وَحَالَتْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ
wa halat bayni wa baynaka
intervened between You and me,
وَغَيَّرَتْ حَالِي عِنْدَكَ
wa ghayyarat hali `indaka
and changed my state with You,
فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُطْفَأُ
fa'inni as'aluka binuri wajhika alladhi la yutfa'u
so, I beseech You in the name of the Light of Your Face that is never extinguished,
وَبِوَجْهِ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيبِكَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَىٰ
wa biwajhi muhammadin habibika almustafa
in the name of the face of Muhammad, Your chosen and most beloved of You,
وَبِوَجْهِ وَلِيِّكَ عَلِيٍّ ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ
wa biwajhi waliyyika `aliyyin almurtada
in the name of the face of `Ali, Your most pleased intimate servant,
وَبِحَقِّ أَوْلِيَائِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱنْتَجَبْتَهُمْ
wa bihaqqi awliya'ika alladhina intajabtahum
and in the name of Your saints whom You have selected [for Yourself]
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَأَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا مَضَىٰ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي
wa an taghfira li ma mada min dhunubi
and forgive me all of my past sins,
وَأَنْ تَعْصِمَنِي فِيمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِي
wa an ta`simani fima baqiya min `umri
and protect me [against sinning] in the rest of my life.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ
wa a`udhu bika allahumma
I seek Your protection, O Allah,
أَنْ أَعُودَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ مَعَاصِيكَ
an a`uda fi shay'in min ma`asika
against that I may commit again any act of disobedience to You
أَبَداً مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِي حَتَّىٰ تَتَوَفَّانِي
abadan ma abqaytani hatta tatawaffani
as long as You keep me alive so that You will take me up
وَأَنَا لَكَ مُطيعٌ وَأَنْتَ عَنِّي رَاضٍ
wa ana laka muti`un wa anta `anni radin
while I am obedient to You and You are pleased with me.
وَأَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِي عَمَلِي بِأَحْسَنِهِ
wa an takhtima li `amali bi-ahsanihi
I beseech You to seal my life with the most excellent of my deeds,
وَتَجْعَلَ لِي ثَوَابَهُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ
wa taj`ala li thawabahu aljannata
decide Paradise to be my reward for that,
وَأَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِي مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ
wa an taf`ala bi ma anta ahluhu
and do to me that which befits You,
يَا أَهْلَ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَيَا أَهْلَ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ
ya ahla alttaqwa wa ya ahla almaghfirati
O He Who is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive!
صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
Send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَٱرْحِمْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
warhamni birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
and have mercy on me, in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
The following dua is a general dua but reported under Mubahila day also in Iqbal Aamal.
This dua, repentance, crying and asking have been reported on the authority of Imam Ali(as).
اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ ما فِي الْأَرْضِ
Allah la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum la ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard
Allah. There is no God but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth.
مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ ما بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَ ما خَلْفَهُمْ
man dhalladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnih ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum
Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what is before them and what is behind them.
وَ لا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِما شاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ
wa la yuhituna bi-shay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha' wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard
Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.
وَ لا يَؤُدُهُ حِفْظُهُما وَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
wa la ya'uduhu hifzuhuma wa huwal 'aliyyul 'azim
And He is the Most High, the Supreme.
شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَ الْمَلائِكَةُ وَ أُولُوا الْعِلْمِ قائِماً بِالْقِسْطِ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
shahidallahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa wal-mala'ikatu wa ulul 'ilmi qa'iman bil-qist la ilaha illa huwal 'azizul hakim
Allah is witness that there is no God but He; and the angels and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no God but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشاءُ وَ تَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشاءُ وَ تُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشاءُ وَ تُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشاءُ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
qulillahumma malikal mulki tu'til mulka man tasha'u wa tanzi'ul mulka mimman tasha'u wa tu'izzu man tasha'u wa tudhillu man tasha'u biyadikal khayr innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir
Say: "O God! Lord of Power, You give power to whom You please, and You strip off power from whom You please; You endue with honor whom You please, and You bring low whom You please. In Your hand is all good. Verily, over all things You have power."
تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهارِ وَ تُولِجُ النَّهارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَ تُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَ تُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَ تَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسابٍ
tulijul layla fin-nahari wa tulijun-nahara fil-layli wa tukhrijul hayya minal mayyiti wa tukhrijul mayyita minal hayyi wa tarzuqu man tasha'u bighayri hisab
"You cause the night to gain on the day, and You cause the day to gain on the night; You bring the Living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the Living; and You give sustenance to whom You please, without measure."
لَوْ أَنْزَلْنا هذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلى جَبَلٍ لَرَأَيْتَهُ خاشِعاً مُتَصَدِّعاً مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ وَ تِلْكَ الْأَمْثالُ نَضْرِبُها لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
law anzalna hadhal qur'ana 'ala jabalin lara'aytahu khashi'an mutasaddi'am min khashyatillah wa tilkal amthalu nadribuha linnasi la'allahum yatafakkarun
Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily, you would have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect.
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهادَةِ هُوَ الرَّحْمنُ الرَّحِيمُ هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ
huwallahulladhi la ilaha illa huwa 'alimul ghaybi wash-shahadah huwar-rahmanur-rahim huwallahulladhi la ilaha illa huwal malikul quddusus-salamul mu'minul muhayminul 'azizul jabbarul mutakabbir
He is Allah, than Whom there is no other god; Who knows all things both secret and open; He is the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. He is Allah, than Whom there is no other god; the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace, the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme.
سُبْحانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْخالِقُ الْبارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ الْأَسْماءُ الْحُسْنى يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
subhanallahi 'amma yushrikun huwallahul khaliqul bari'ul musawwiru lahul asma'ul husna yusabbihu lahu ma fis-samawati wal-ard wa huwal 'azizul hakim
Glory be to God above the partners they attribute to Him! He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth doth declare His Praises and Glory; and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا يُعْرَفُ لَهُ سَمِيٌّ وَ هُوَ اللَّهُ الرَّجَاءُ وَ الْمُرْتَجَى وَ اللَّجَأُ وَ الْمُلْتَجَى وَ إِلَيْهِ الْمُشْتَكَى وَ مِنْهُ الْفَرَجُ وَ الرَّخَاءُ وَ هُوَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ بِحَقِّ الِاسْمِ الرَّفِيعِ عِنْدَكَ الْعَالِي الْمَنِيعِ الَّذِي اخْتَرْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ وَ اخْتَصَصْتَهُ لِذِكْرِكَ وَ مَنَعْتَهُ جَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ وَ أَفْرَدْتَهُ عَنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ دُونَكَ وَ جَعَلْتَهُ دَلِيلًا عَلَيْكَ وَ سَبَباً إِلَيْكَ
huwallahulladhi la yu'rafu lahu samiyyun wa huwallahur-raja'u wal-murtaja wal-laja'u wal-multaja wa ilayhil mushtaka wa minhul faraju war-rakha'u wa huwa sami'ud-du'a' allahumma inni as'aluka ya allahu bihaqqil ismir-rafi'i 'indakal 'alil mani'illadhi khtartahu linafsika wa khtasastahu lidhikrika wa mana'tahu jami'a khalqika wa afradtahu 'an kulli shay'in dunaka wa ja'altahu dalilan 'alayka wa sababan ilayk
He is God and no one with the same name is known; He is the Hope and we have hopes in Him, the Shelter and the Refuge, and to Him is all complaint, and from Him is relief and ease, and He hears prayers. O God! I ask You, O God, by the right of Your High, Sublime, and Impenetrable Name near You, which You have chosen for Yourself, dedicated to Your Remembrance, withheld from all Your creatures, singled out from everything besides You, and made a proof of You and a means to You.
وَ هُوَ أَعْظَمُ الْأَسْمَاءِ وَ أَجَلُّ الْأَقْسَامِ وَ أَفْخَرُ الْأَشْيَاءِ وَ أَكْبَرُ الْغَنَائِمِ وَ أَوْفَقُ الدُّعَاءِ ثُمَّ لَا يُخَيِّبُ رَاجِيَهُ وَ لَا يَرُدُّ دَاعِيَهُ وَ لَا يَضْعُفُ مَنِ اعْتَمَدَ عَلَيْهِ وَ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهِ
wa huwa a'zamul asma'i wa ajallul aqsami wa afkharul ashya'i wa akbarul ghana'imi wa awfaqud-du'a'i thumma la yukhayyibu rajiyahu wa la yaruddu da'iyahu wa la yad'ufu mani'tamada 'alayhi wa laja'a ilayh
It is the grandest of Names, the most majestic of oaths, the noblest of things, the greatest of bounties, and the most fitting prayer; it never disappoints the one who hopes in it, never turns down its caller, and never weakens the one who relies upon it and takes shelter in it.
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ بِالرُّبُوبِيَّةِ الَّتِي تَفَرَّدْتَ بِهَا أَنْ تَقِيَنِي النَّارَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَ تُدْخِلَنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
wa as'aluka ya allahu bir-rububiyyatillati tafarradta biha an taqiyanin-nara biqudratika wa tudkhilanil jannata birahmatik
I ask You, O God, by the Lordship in which You are unique, to save me from the Fire by Your Power, and let me enter Paradise by Your Mercy.
يَا نُورُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ قَدِ اسْتَضَاءَ بِنُورِكَ أَهْلُ سَمَاوَاتِكَ وَ أَرْضِكَ
ya nuru anta nurus-samawati wal-ard qadis-tada'a binurika ahlu samawatika wa ardik
O Light! You are the Light of the heavens and the earth! The people of Your heavens and earth are illuminated by Your Light.
فَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِي نُوراً فِي سَمْعِي وَ بَصَرِي أَسْتَضِيءُ بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
fa-as'aluka an taj'ala li nuran fi sam'i wa basari astadi'u bihi fid-dunya wal-akhirah
I ask You to place light in my hearing and my sight, by which I may be illuminated in this world and the Hereafter.
يَا عَظِيمُ أَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ بِعَظَمَتِكَ اسْتَعَنْتُ فَارْفَعْنِي وَ أَلْحِقْنِي دَرَجَةَ الصَّالِحِينَ
ya 'azimu anta rabbul 'arshil 'azim bi-'azamatika sta'antu farfa'ni wa alhiqni darajatas-salihin
O Supreme! You are the Lord of the Supreme Throne! By Your Greatness I seek help, so raise me and join me to the ranks of the righteous.
يَا كَرِيمُ بِكَرَمِكَ تَعَرَّضْتُ وَ بِهِ تَمَسَّكْتُ وَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ اعْتَمَدْتُ [وَ اعْتَقَدْتُ] فَأَكْرِمْنِي بِكَرَامَتِكَ وَ أَنْزِلْ عَلَيَّ رَحْمَتَكَ وَ بَرَكَاتِكَ وَ قَرِّبْنِي مِنْ جِوَارِكَ
ya karimu bikaramika ta'arradtu wa bihi tamassaktu wa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa 'tamadtu fa-akrimni bikaramatika wa anzil 'alayya rahmataka wa barakatika wa qarribni min jiwarik
O the All-Generous! I present myself to Your Benevolence, grab onto it, and upon it I place my trust and reliance; so honor me out of Your Benevolence, send down Your Mercy and Blessings upon me, and bring me close to Your proximity.
وَ أَلْبِسْنِي مِنْ مَهَابَتِكَ وَ بَهَائِكَ وَ أَنِلْنِي مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ جَزِيلِ عَطَائِكَ
wa albisni min mahabatika wa baha'ika wa anilni min rahmatika wa jazili 'ata'ik
Adorn me with Your splendor and beauty, and grant me Your Mercy and Your abundant gifts.
يَا كَبِيرُ لَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدِّي وَ لَا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُنِي وَ ارْفَعْ ذِكْرِي وَ شَرِّفْ مَقَامِي
ya kabiru la tusa''ir khaddi wa la tusallit 'alayya mal la yarhamuni warfa' dhikri wa sharrif maqami
O Great! Do not let my face turn away in humiliation, do not subject me to one who has no mercy on me, raise my renown, and honor my position.
وَ أَعْلِ فِي عِلِّيِّينَ دَرَجَتِي
wa a'li fi 'illiyyina darajati
And raise my rank in the highest of the high.
يَا مُتَعَالِي [متعال] أَسْأَلُكَ بِعُلُوِّكَ أَنْ تَرْفَعَنِي وَ لَا تَضَعْنِي وَ لَا تُذِلَّنِي بِمَنْ هُوَ أَرْفَعُ مِنِّي وَ لَا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيَّ مَنْ هُوَ دُونِي وَ أَسْكِنْ خَوْفَكَ قَلْبِي
ya muta'ali as'aluka bi-'uluwwika an tarfa'ni wa la tada'ni wa la tudhillani biman huwa arfa'u minni wa la tusallit 'alayya man huwa duni wa askin khawfaka qalbi
O Most Exalted! I ask You by Your Sublimity to raise me and not lower me, do not debase me through one who is higher than me, do not subject me to one who is inferior to me, and let Your fear reside in my heart.
يَا حَيُّ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَيَاتِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَمُوتُ أَنْ تُهَوِّنَ عَلَيَّ الْمَوْتَ وَ أَنْ تُحْيِيَنِي حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً وَ تَوَفَّنِي مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ
ya hayyu as'aluka bihayatikallati la tamutu an tuhawwina 'alayyal mawta wa an tuhyiyani hayatan tayyibatan wa tawaffani ma'al abrar
O Living! I ask You by Your Life that never ends to make death easy for me, to give me a wholesome life, and to let me die in the company of the righteous.
يَا قَيُّومُ أَنْتَ الْقَائِمُ عَلى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِما كَسَبَتْ وَ الْمُقِيمُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ يُطِيعُكَ وَ يَقُومُ بِأَمْرِكَ وَ حَقِّكَ وَ لَا يَغْفُلُ عَنْ ذِكْرِكَ
ya qayyumu antal qa'imu 'ala kulli nafsim bima kasabat wal-muqimu bikulli shay'ij-'alni mimmay yuti'uka wa yaqumu bi-amrika wa haqqika wa la yaghfulu 'an dhikrik
O the Self-Subsisting! You are the maintainer over every soul according to what it earns, and the upholder of everything; make me of those who obey You, fulfill Your commands and Your rights, and never neglect Your remembrance.
يَا رَحْمَانُ ارْحَمْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ جُدْ عَلَيَّ بِفَضْلِكَ وَ جُودِكَ [وَ جِوَارِكَ] وَ نَجِّنِي مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَ أَجِرْنِي مِنْ عَذَابِكَ
ya rahmanu rhamni birahmatika wa jud 'alayya bifadlika wa judika wa najjini min 'iqabika wa ajirni min 'adhabik
O Compassionate! Have mercy on me with Your Mercy, be kind to me with Your grace and benevolence, save me from Your punishment, and protect me from Your chastisement.
يَا رَحِيمُ تَعَطَّفْ عَلَى ضُرِّي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ جُدْ عَلَيَّ بِجُودِكَ وَ رَأْفَتِكَ وَ خَلِّصْنِي مِنْ عَظِيمِ جُرْمِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فَإِنَّكَ الشَّفِيقُ الرَّفِيقُ وَ مَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْكَ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقى وَ الرُّكْنِ الْوَثِيقِ
ya rahimu ta'attaf 'ala durri birahmatika wa jud 'alayya bijudika wa ra'fatika wa khallisni min 'azimi jurmi birahmatika fa-innakash-shafiqur-rafiqu wa mal laja'a ilayka faqadis-tamsaka bil-'urwatil wuthqa war-ruknil wathiq
O Merciful! Be affectionate toward my harm by Your Mercy, be generous to me with Your generosity and kindness, and deliver me from my great crimes by Your Mercy, for You are the Affectionate Companion; and whoever takes shelter in You has indeed grasped the most trustworthy stronghold and the firmest pillar.
يَا مَلِكُ مِنْ مُلْكِكَ أَطْلُبُ وَ مِنْ خَزَائِنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنْفَدُ أَسْأَلُ فَأَعْطِنِي مُلْكَ الدُّنْ
ya maliku mim mulkika atlubu wa min khaza'inikallati la tanfadu as'alu fa-a'tini mulkad-dun-
O King! From Your Kingdom I demand, and from Your treasures that never exhaust I ask; so grant me the kingdom of this world—
يَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُعْجِزُكَ وَ لَا يَنْقُصُكَ شَيْءٌ وَ لَا يُؤْثَرُ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ
-ya wal-akhirah fa-innahu la yu'jizuka wa la yanqusuka shay'un wa la yutharu fima 'indak
—and the Hereafter, for it does not disable You, diminish anything from You, or affect what is in Your possession.
يَا قُدُّوسُ أَنْتَ الطَّاهِرُ الْمُقَدَّسُ فَطَهِّرْ قَلْبِي وَ فَرِّغْنِي لِذِكْرِكَ وَ عَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَ زِدْنِي عِلْماً إِلَى مَا عَلَّمْتَنِي
ya quddusu antat-tahirul muqaddasu fatahhir qalbi wa farrighni lidhikrika wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni wa zidni 'ilman ila ma 'allamtani
O Holy One! You are Pure and Sacred; so cleanse my heart, dedicate me to Your remembrance, teach me what benefits me, and increase my knowledge in addition to what You have taught me.
يَا جَبَّارُ بِقُوَّتِكَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى الْجَبَّارِينَ وَ اجْبُرْنِي
ya jabbaru biquwwatika a'inni 'alal jabbarina wajburni
O Compeller! By Your strength assist me against the tyrants, and mend my affairs.
يَا جَابِرَ الْعَظْمِ الْكَسِيرِ وَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ خَاضِعٌ لَكَ
ya jabiral 'azmil kasiri wa kullu jabbarin khadi'ul lak
O Mender of broken bones! Every tyrant is humble before You.
يَا مُتَكَبِّرُ اكْنُفْنِي بِرُكْنِكَ وَ حُلْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ الْبُغَاةِ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ بِكِبْرِيَائِكَ
ya mutakabbiru knufni biruknika wa hul bayni wa baynal bughati min khalqika bikibriya'ik
O Proud! Protect me under Your shelter, and act as a barrier between me and the tyrants among Your creation by Your majesty.
يَا عَزِيزُ أَعِزَّنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ وَ لَا تُذِلَّنِي بِالْمَعَاصِي فَأَهُونُ عِنْدَكَ وَ عِنْدَ خَلْقِكَ
ya 'azizu a'izzani bita'atika wa la tudhillani bil-ma'asi fa-ahuna 'indaka wa 'inda khalqik
O Almighty! Honor me with Your obedience and do not debase me with sins, lest I become contemptible to You and to Your creation.
يَا حَلِيمُ عُدْ عَلَيَّ بِحِلْمِكَ وَ اسْتُرْنِي بِعَفْوِكَ وَ اجْعَلْنِي مُؤَدِّياً لِحَقِّكَ وَ لَا تَفْضَحْنِي يَوْمَ الْوُقُوفِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
ya halimu 'ud 'alayya bihilmika wasturni bi-'afwika waj'alni mu'addiyallilhaqqika wa la tafdahni yawmal wuqufi bayna yadayk
O Forbearing! Turn to me with Your forbearance, cover me with Your pardon, let me be a fulfiller of Your rights, and do not disgrace me on the Day of standing before You.
يَا عَلِيمُ أَنْتَ الْعَالِمُ بِحَالِي وَ سِرِّي وَ جَهْرِي وَ خَطَئِي وَ عَمْدِي فَاصْفَحْ لِي عَمَّا خَفِيَ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ مِنْ أَمْرِي
ya 'alimu antal 'alimu bihali wa sirri wa jahri wa khata'i wa 'amdi fasfah li 'amma khafiya 'an khalqika min amri
O All-Knowing! You are aware of my state, my secrets, what is public, my faults, and my intentions; so pardon me regarding what is hidden from Your creation concerning my affairs.
يَا حَكِيمُ أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا أَحْكَمْتَ بِهِ الْأَشْ
ya hakimu as'aluka bima ahkamta bihil-ash-
O All-Wise! I ask You by the wisdom with which You perfected—
يَاءَ فَأَتْقَنْتَهَا أَنْ تَحْكُمَ لِي بِالْإِجَابَةِ فِيمَا أَسْأَلُكَ وَ أَرْغَبُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ
-ya'a fa-atqantaha an tahkuma li bil-ijabati fima as'aluka wa arghabu fihi ilayk
—all things, that You decree for me the fulfillment of what I ask of You and desire from You.
يَا سَلَامُ سَلِّمْنِي مِنْ مَظَالِمِ الْعِبَادِ وَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَ أَهْوَالِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
ya salamu sallimni min mazalimil 'ibadi wa min 'adhabil qabri wa ahwali yawmil qiyamah
O Peace! Secure me from the violations against Your servants, from the torture of the grave, and from the horrors of the Resurrection Day.
يَا مُؤْمِنُ آمِنِّي مِنْ كُلِّ خَوْفٍ وَ ارْحَمْ ضُرِّي وَ مَقَامِي وَ اكْفِنِي مَا أَهَمَّنِي مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَايَ وَ آخِرَتِي
ya mu'minu aminni min kulli khawfin warham durri wa maqami wakfini ma ahammani min amri dunyaya wa akhirati
O Guardian of Faith! Grant me security from all fear, have mercy on my harm and my lowly position, and suffice me in what concerns me of my worldly affairs and the affairs of my Hereafter.
يَا مُهَيْمِنُ خُذْ بِنَاصِيَتِي إِلَى رِضَاكَ وَ اجْعَلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ مَعْصُوماً عَنْ طَاعَةِ مَنْ سِوَاكَ
ya muhayminu khudh binasiyati ila ridaka waj'alni bita'atika ma'suman 'an ta'ati man siwak
O Supreme Controller! Lead me by my forelock to Your pleasure, and make me through Your obedience immune to the obedience of anyone besides You.
يَا بَارِئُ أَنْتَ بَارِئُ الْأَشْيَاءِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مِثَالٍ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ الْمَبْرُورِينَ عِنْدَكَ
ya bari'u anta bari'ul ashya'i 'ala ghayri mithalin as'aluka an taj'alani minas-sadiqinal mabrurina 'indak
O Originator! You are the Originator of things without any prior model; I ask You to let me be of the truthful and virtuous ones accepted by You.
يَا مُصَوِّرُ صَوَّرْتَنِي فَأَحْسَنْتَ صُورَتِي وَ خَلَقْتَنِي فَأَكْمَلْتَ خَلْقِي فَتَمِّمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ وَ لَا تُشَوِّهْ خَلْقِي يَوْمَ الْقِ يَامَةِ
ya musawwiru sawwartani fa-ahsanta surati wa khalaqtani fa-akmalta khalqi fatammim ahsana ma an'amta bihi 'alayya wa la tushawwih khalqi yawmal qiyamah
O Designer! You designed me and made my form beautiful, and You created me and perfected my creation; so complete the best of what You have blessed me with, and do not disfigure my form on the Resurrection Day.
يَا قَدِيرُ بِقُدْرَتِكَ قَدَّرْتَ وَ قَدَّرْتَنِي عَلَى الْأَشْيَاءِ فَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُحْسِنَ عَلَى أُمُورِ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ مَعُونَتِي وَ تُنْجِيَنِي مِنْ سُوءِ أَقْدَارِكَ يَا غَنِيَّ [الْأَغْنِيَاءِ] أَغْنِنِي بِغِنَائِكَ
ya qadiru biqudratika qaddarta wa qaddartani 'alal ashya'i fa-as'aluka an tuhsina 'ala umurid-dunya wal-akhirati ma'unati wa tunjiyani min su'i aqdarika ya ghaniyyal aghniya'i aghnini bighina'ik
O Powerful! By Your power You have decreed and given me capability over things; so I ask You to make good Your assistance to me in the affairs of this world and the Hereafter, and save me from the evil of Your decrees; O Wealthiest of the wealthy, enrich me with Your wealth.
وَ أَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ فِي عَطَائِكَ [بِعَطَائِكَ] وَ اشْفِنِي بِشِفَائِكَ وَ لَا تُبْعِدْنِي مِنْ سَلَامَتِكَ
wa awsi' 'alayya fi 'ata'ika washfini bishifa'ika wa la tub'idni min salamatik
And expand Your gifts upon me, heal me with Your healing, and do not distance me from Your safety.
يَا حَمِيدُ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كُلُّهُ وَ بِيَدِكَ الْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ وَ مِنْكَ الْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِي الشُّكْرَ عَلَى مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي
ya hamidu lakal hamdu kulluhu wa biyadikal amru kulluhu wa minkal khayru kulluhu allahumma alhimnish-shukra 'ala ma a'taytani
O Praiseworthy! All praise belongs to You, in Your hand is all command, and from You is all good. O God, inspire me to be grateful for what You have granted me.
يَا مَجِيدُ أَنْتَ الْمَجِيدُ وَحْدَكَ لَا يَفُوتُكَ شَيْءٌ وَ لَا يَئُودُكَ شَيْءٌ فَاجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ يُقَدِّسُكَ وَ يُمَجِّدُكَ وَ يُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ
ya majidu antal majidu wahdaka la yafutuka shay'un wa la ya'uduka shay'un faj'alni mimmay yuqaddisuka wa yumajjiduka wa yuthni 'alayk
O Glorious! You are the Glorious alone; nothing escapes You and nothing burdens You; so make me of those who sanctify You, glorify You, and praise You.
يَا أَحَدُ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ الْفَرْدُ الْأَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ لَمْ تَلِدْ وَ لَمْ تُولَدْ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَكَ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ فَكُنْ لِيَ اللَّهُمَّ جَاراً وَ مُونِساً وَ حِصْناً مَنِيعاً
ya ahadu antallahul fardul ahadus-samad lam talid wa lam tulad wa lam yakullaka kufuwan ahad fakulliyallahumma jaran wa munisan wa hisnam mani'a
O One! You are Allah, the Unique, the One, the Absolute; You do not give birth nor are You born, and there is none like unto You; so be to me, O God, a neighbor, a companion, and an impenetrable fortress.
يَا وَتْرُ أَنْتَ وَتْرُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَ لَا يَعْدِلُكَ شَيْءٌ فَاجْعَلْ عَاقِبَةَ أَمْرِي إِلَى خَيْرٍ وَ اجْعَلْ خَيْرَ أَيَّامِي يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ
ya watru anta watru kulli shay'iw wa la ya'diluka shay'un faj'al 'aqibata amri ila khayriw waj'al khayra ayyami yawma alqak
O Odd! You are unique in all things and nothing equals You; so let the end of my affairs be good, and make the best of my days the Day I meet You.
يَا صَمَدُ يَا مَنْ لا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ وَ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ خَافِيَةٌ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ احْفَظْنِي فِي تَقَلُّبِي [تَخَيُّلِي] وَ نَوْمِي وَ يَقَظَتِي
ya samadu ya mal la ta'khudhuhu sinatuw wa la nawmuw wa la yakhfa 'alayhi khafiyatun fi zulumatil barri wal-bahri hfazni fi taqallubi wa nawmi wa yaqazati
O Absolute! O He Whom no slumber can seize nor sleep, and from Whom nothing is hidden in the darkness of land or sea; protect me in my movements, my sleep, and my wakefulness.
يَا سَمِيعُ اسْمَعْ صَوْتِي وَ ارْحَمْ صَرْخَتِي
ya sami'u sma' sawti warham sarkhati
O All-Hearing! Hear my voice and have mercy on my crying.
يَا سَمِيعُ يَا مُجِيبُ
ya sami'u ya mujib
O All-Hearing! O Responder!
يَا بَصِيرُ قَدْ أَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمُكَ وَ نَفَذَ فِيهِ عِلْمُكَ وَ كُلُّهُ بِعَيْنِكَ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيَّ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ لَا تُعْرِضْ عَنِّي بِوَجْهِكَ
ya basiru qad ahata bikulli shay'in 'ilmuka wa nafadha fihi 'ilmuka wa kulluhu bi-'aynika fanzur ilayya birahmatika wa la tu'rid 'anni biwajhik
O All-Seeing! Your knowledge has encompassed everything and Your knowledge is effective in it, and everything is before Your eyes; so look at me with Your Mercy and do not turn Your Face away from me.
يَا رَءُوفُ أَنْتَ أَرْأَفُ بِي مِنْ أَبِي وَ أُمِّي وَ لَوْ لَا رَأْفَتُكَ لَمَا عَطَفَا عَلَيَّ فَتَمِّمْ نِعْمَتَكَ عَلَيَّ وَ لَا تُنَغِّصْنِي مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي
ya ra'ufu anta ar'afu bi min abi wa ummi wa law la ra'fatuka lama 'atafa 'alayya fatammim ni'mataka 'alayya wa la tunagghisni ma a'taytani
O Affectionate! You are kinder to me than my father and my mother; were it not for Your affection they would not have been kind to me; so complete Your blessing upon me and do not diminish what You have granted me.
يَا لَطِيفُ الْطُفْ لِي بِلُطْفِكَ الْخَفِيِّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَعْلَمُ وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا أَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
ya latifu ltuf li bilutfikal khafiyi min haythu a'lamu wa min haythu la a'lamu innaka anta 'allamul ghuyub
O Gentle! Be gentle with me through Your hidden gentleness from where I know and from where I do not know; verily, You are the Knower of all secrets.
يَا حَفِيظُ احْفَظْنِي فِي نَفْسِي وَ أَهْلِي وَ مَالِي وَ وُلْدِي وَ مَا حَضَرْتُهُ وَ وَعَيْتُهُ وَ غِبْتُ عَنْهُ مِنْ أَمْرِي بِمَا حَفِظْتَ بِهِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرَضِينَ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
ya hafizu hfazni fi nafsi wa ahli wa mali wa waladi wa ma hadartuhu wa wa'aytuhu wa ghibtu 'anhu min amri bima hafizta bihis-samawati wal-aradina wa ma baynahuma innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir
O Protector! Protect me in my self, my family, my wealth, my children, what I am present for, what I hold, and what I am absent from regarding my affairs, with the same protection by which You preserve the heavens, the earths, and whatever is between them; verily, You have power over all things.
يَا غَفُورُ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَ اسْتُرْ عُيُوبِي وَ لَا تَفْضَحْنِي بِسَرَائِرِي إِنَّكَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ وَ
ya ghafuru ghfir li dhunubi wastur 'uyubi wa la tafdahni bisara'iri innaka arhamur-rahimin wa-
O All-Forgiving! Forgive me my sins, cover up my faults, and do not disgrace me for my secret thoughts; verily, You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
يَا وَدُودُ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْكَ مَوَدَّةً وَ رَحْمَةً فِي الدُّنْ
-ya wadudu j'alli minka mawaddataw wa rahmatan fid-dun-
O Loving! Establish for me from Yourself affection and mercy in this—
يَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ اجْعَلْ لِي ذَلِكَ فِي صُدُورِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
-ya wal-akhirah waj'al li dhalika fi suduril mu'minin
—world and the Hereafter, and place that in the hearts of the believers.
يَا ذَا الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدِ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ الْمُمَجِّدِينَ لَكَ فِي آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَ أَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ وَ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَ الْآصالِ وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذَلِكَ
ya dhal 'arshil majidij-'alni minal musabbihinal mumajjidina laka fi ana'il layli wa atrafin-nahari wal-ghuduwwi wal-asali wa a'inni 'ala dhalik
O Lord of the Glorious Throne! Make me among those who glorify and praise You in the hours of the night and the ends of the day, in the mornings and the evenings, and assist me in doing so.
يَا مُبْدِئُ أَنْتَ بَدَأْتَ الْأَشْيَاءَ كَمَا تُرِيدُ وَ أَنْتَ الْمُبْدِئُ الْمُعِيدُ الْفَعَّالُ لِمَا تُرِيدُ فَاجْعَلْ لِيَ الْخِيَرَةَ فِي الْبَدْءِ وَ الْعَاقِبَةِ فِي الْأُمُورِ
ya mubdi'u anta bada'tal ashya'a kama turidu wa antal mubdi'ul mu'idul fa''alul lima turid faj'al liyal khiyarata fil bad'i wal-'aqibati fil umur
O Innovator! You began creation as You willed, and You are the Originator and the Restorer, the Doer of what He wills; so grant me choice in the beginning and a good outcome in all affairs.
يَا مُعِيدُ أَنْتَ تُعِيدُ الْأَشْيَاءَ كَمَا بَدَأْتَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ
ya mu'idu anta tu'idul ashya'a kama bada'taha awwala marrah
O Restorer! You restore things just as You originated them the first time.
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ إِعَادَةَ الصِّحَّةِ وَ الْمَالِ وَ جَلِيلِ الْأَحْوَالِ إِلَيَّ وَ التَّفَضُّلَ بِذَلِكَ
wa as'aluka i'adatas-sihhati wal-mali wa jalilil ahwali ilayya wat-tafaddula bidhalik
And I ask You for the restoration of health, wealth, and an honorable state to me, and Your grace in that.
يَا رَقِيبُ احْرُسْنِي بِرَقَبَتِكَ وَ أَعِنِّي بِحِفْظِكَ وَ اكْنُفْنِي بِفَضْلِكَ وَ لَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى غَيْرِكَ
ya raqibu hrusni biraqabatika wa a'inni bihifzika waknufni bifadlika wa la takilni ila ghayrik
O Watchful! Guard me with Your oversight, assist me with Your protection, encompass me with Your grace, and do not entrust me to anyone other than You.
يَا شَكُورُ أَنْتَ الشَّكُورُ عَلَى مَا رَعَيْتَ وَ غَذَّيْتَ وَ وَهَبْتَ وَأَعْطَيْتَ وَ أَغْنَيْتَ فَاجْعَلْنِي لَكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ وَ لِآلَائِكَ مِنَ الْحَامِدِينَ
ya shakuru antash-shakuru 'ala ma ra'ayta wa ghaddayta wa wahabta wa a'tayta wa aghnayta faj'alni laka minash-shakirina wa li'ala'ika minal hamidin
O Thankful! You are the Appreciative for what You have guarded, nourished, bestowed, granted, and enriched; so make me among the grateful to You and among the praisers of Your bounties.
يَا بَاعِثُ ابْعَثْنِي شَهِيداً صِدِّيقاً رَضِيّاً عَزِيزاً حَمِيداً مُغْتَبِطاً مَسْرُوراً مَشْكُوراً مَحْبُوراً
ya ba'ithu b'athni shahidan siddiqan radiyyan 'azizan hamidam mughtabitam masruram mashkuram mahbura
O Resurrecter! Resurrect me as a martyr, truthful, pleased, honorable, praiseworthy, glad, joyful, thankful, and delighted.
يَا وَارِثُ تَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ سُكَّانَهَا وَ جَمِيعَ مَا خَلَقْتَ فَوَرِّثْنِي حِلْماً وَ عِلْماً إِنَّكَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
ya warithu tarithul arda wa man 'alayha was-samawati wa sukkanaha wa jami'a ma khalaqta fawarrithni hilmaw wa 'ilman innaka khayrul warithin
O Inheritor! You inherit the earth and whoever is upon it, the heavens and its inhabitants, and all that You have created; so let me inherit forbearance and knowledge; verily, You are the best of inheritors.
يَا مُحْيِي أَحْيِنِي حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً بِجُودِكَ وَ أَلْهِمْنِي شُكْرَكَ وَ ذِكْرَكَ أَبَداً مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِي وَ آتِنِي فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنِي عَذَابَ النَّارِ
ya muhyi ahyini hayatan tayyibatam bijudika wa alhimni shukraka wa dhikraka abadam ma abqaytani wa atini fid-dunya hasanataw wa fil-akhirati hasanataw wa qini 'adhaban-nar
O Giver of life! Give me a wholesome life out of Your generosity, and inspire me to thank You and remember You always for as long as You keep me alive, and grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire.
يَا مُحْسِنُ عُدْ عَلَيَّ اللَّهُمَّ بِإِحْسَانِكَ وَ ضَاعِفْ عِنْدِي نِعْمَتَكَ وَ جَمِيلَ بَلَائِكَ
ya muhsinu 'ud 'alayyallahumma bi-ihsanika wa da'if 'indi ni'mataka wa jamila bala'ik
O Beneficent! Turn to me, O God, with Your beneficence, and double Your blessing and Your beautiful trials upon me.
يَا مُمِيتُ هَوِّنْ عَلَيَّ سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ وَ غُصَصَهُ وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ عِنْدَ نُزُولِهِ وَ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ النَّادِمِينَ عِنْدَ مُفَارَقَةِ الدُّنْيَا
ya mumitu hawwin 'alayya sakaratil mawti wa ghusasahu wa barik li fihi 'inda nuzulihi wa la taj'alni minan-nadimina 'inda mufaraqatid-dunya
O Giver of death! Ease upon me the agonies of death and its griefs, bless it for me when it descends, and do not let me be among the regretful when departing from this world.
يَا مُجْمِلُ لَا تُبْغِضْنِي بِمَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي وَ لَا تَمْنَعْنِي مَا رَزَقْتَنِي وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي وَ جَمِّلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ
ya mujmilu la tubghidni bima a'taytani wa la tamna'ni ma razaqtani wa la tahrimni ma wa'adtani wa jammilni bita'atik
O Beautifier! Do not make me resentful of what You have granted me, do not withhold what You have provided for me, do not deprive me of what You have promised me, and beautify me with Your obedience.
يَا مُنْعِمُ تَمِّمْ نِعْمَتَكَ عَلَيَّ وَ آنِسْنِي بِهَا وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ لَكَ عَلَيْهَا
ya mun'imu tammim ni'mataka 'alayya wa anisni biha waj'alni minash-shakirina laka 'alayha
O Bestower of Bounties! Complete Your blessing upon me, make me comfortable with it, and let me be among those who thank You for it.
يَا مُفْضِلُ بِفَضْلِكَ أَعِيشُ وَ لَكَ أَرْجُو وَ عَلَيْكَ أَعْتَمِدُ فَأَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ حَلَالِ رِزْقِكَ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ وَ الْآخِرُ وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ فَاجْعَلْنِي أَوَّلَ التَّائِبِينَ وَ مِمَّنْ يَرْوَى مِنْ حَوْضِ نَبِيِّكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
ya mufdilu bifadlika a'ishu wa laka arju wa 'alayhi a'tamidu fa-awsi' 'alayya min fadlika warzuqni min halalir-rizqika antal awwalu wal-akhiru wadh-zahiru wal-batinu wa anta 'ala kulli shay'in qadir faj'alni awwalat-ta'ibina wa mimmay yarwa min hawdi nabiyyika yawmal qiyamah
O Granter of Favor! By Your grace I live, in You I hope, and upon You I rely; so expand Your grace upon me, provide for me from Your permissible sustenance, for You are the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and You have power over all things; so make me the first of the repentant and among those who drink from the Pond of Your Prophet on the Resurrection Day.
يَا آخِرُ أَنْتَ الْآخِرُ وَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَكَ تَعَالَيْتَ عُلُوّاً كَبِيراً
ya akhiru antal akhiru wa kullu shay'in halikun illa wajhaka ta'alayta 'uluwwan kabira
O Last! You are the Last and everything shall perish except Your Face; Exalted are You with great sublimity.
يَا ظَاهِرُ أَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَكْنُونٍ وَ الْعَالِمُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَكْتُومٍ فَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُظْهِرَ مِنْ أُمُورِي أَحَبَّهَا إِلَيْكَ
ya zahiru antadh-zahiru 'ala kulli shay'im maknuniw wal-'alimu bikulli shay'im maktumin fa-as'aluka an tudhhira min umuri ahabbiha ilayk
O Manifest! You are dominant over every concealed thing, and the Knower of every hidden thing; so I ask You to make the affairs most beloved to You manifest in my life.
يَا بَاطِنُ أَنْتَ تُبْطِنُ فِي الْأَشْيَاءِ مِثْلَ مَا تُظْهِرُهُ فِيهَا وَ أَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ فَأَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْ تُصْلِحَ ظَاهِرِي وَ بَاطِنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ
ya batinu anta tubtinu fil-ashya'i mithla ma tudhhiruhu fiha wa anta 'allamul ghuyub fa-as'alukallahumma an tusliha dhahiri wa batini biqudratik
O Hidden! You are hidden within things just as You are manifest in them, and You are the Knower of all secrets; I ask You, O God, to rectify my outward and my inward states by Your Power.
يَا قَاهِرُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَهَرْتَ الْأَشْيَاءَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ فَكُلُّ جَبَّارٍ دُونَكَ وَ نَوَاصِي الْخَلْقِ كُلُّهُمْ بِيَدِكَ وَ كُلُّهُمْ وَاقِفٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَ خَاضِعٌ لَكَ
ya qahiru antalladhi qahartal ashya'a biqudratika fakullu jabbarin dunaka wa nawasil khalqi kullahum biyadika wa kullahum waqifum bayna yadayka wa khadi'ul lak
O Subduer! You are the One Who subdued all things by Your power; every tyrant is low before You, the forelocks of creation are all in Your hand, and all of them stand before You and are humble to You.
يَا وَهَّابُ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَ عِلْماً وَ مَالًا وَ وَلَداً طَيِّباً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ
ya wahhabu hab li mil ladunka rahmataw wa 'ilmaw wa malaw wa waladan tayyiban innaka antal wahhab
O Giver of Gifts! Grant me from Your presence mercy, knowledge, wealth, and a virtuous child; verily, You are the Giver of Gifts.
يَا فَتَّاحُ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ أَدْخِلْنِي فِيهَا وَ أَعِذْنِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ وَ افْتَحْ لِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
ya fattahu ftah li abwaba rahmatika wa adkhilni fiha wa a'idhni minash-shaytanir-rajim waftah li min fadlik
O Opener! Open for me the gates of Your Mercy, admit me into them, protect me from the accursed Satan, and open up for me from Your grace.
يَا رَزَّاقُ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَ زِدْنِي مِنْ عَطَائِكَ وَ سَعَةِ مَا عِنْدَكَ وَ أَغْنِنِي عَنْ خَلْقِكَ
ya razzaqu rzuqni min fadlika wa zidni min 'ata'ika wa sa'ati ma 'indaka wa aghnini 'an khalqik
O Provider! Provide for me from Your grace, increase Your grants to me and the abundance of what is with You, and enrich me so I have no need of Your creation.
يَا خَلَّاقُ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَ الْأَشْيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ نَصَبٍ وَ لَا لُغُوبٍ خَلَقْتَنِي خَلْقاً سَوِيّاً حَسَناً جَمِيلًا وَ فَضَّلْتَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقْتَ تَفْضِيلًا
ya khallaqu anta khalaqtal ashya'a bighayri nasabiw wa la lughubin khalaqtani khalqan sawiyyan hasanan jamilaw wa faddaltani 'ala kathirim mimman khalaqta tafdila
O Creator! You created things without any fatigue or weariness; You created me in a well-proportioned, good, and beautiful form, and favored me over many of those You created with great favor.
يَا قَاضِي أَنْتَ تَقْضِي فِي خَلْقِكَ بِمَا تُرِيدُ فَاقْضِ لِي بِالْحُسْنَى وَ جَنِّبْنِي الرَّدَى وَ اخْتِمْ لِي بِالْحُسْنَى فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَ الْأُولَى
ya qadi anta taqdi fi khalqika bima turidu faqdi liya bil-husna wa jannibnir-rada wakhtim li bil-husna fil-akhirati wal-ula
O Judge! You decree among Your creation as You will; so judge for me with what is best, keep me away from ruin, and seal my outcomes with what is best in the Hereafter and the first life.
يَا حَنَّانُ تَحَنَّنْ عَلَيَّ بِرَأْفَتِكَ وَ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَيَّ بِرِزْقِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ اقْبِضْ عَنِّي يَدَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ وَ شَيْطَانٍ مَرِيدٍ وَ أَخْرِجْنِي بِعِزَّتِكَ مِنْ حِلَقِ الْمَضِيقِ إِلَى فَرَجِكَ الْقَرِيبِ
ya hannanu tahannan 'alayya bir'afatika wa tafaddal 'alayya birizqika wa rahmatika waqbid 'anni yada kulli jabbarin 'anidin wa shaytanim maridiw wa akhrijni bi-'izzatika min hilaqil madiqi ila farajikal qarib
O Compassionate! Show compassion to me with Your affection, favor me with Your sustenance and Your mercy, withhold from me the hand of every stubborn tyrant and rebellious satan, and deliver me by Your might from the loops of distress into Your near relief.
يَا مَنَّانُ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِالْعَافِيَةِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ لَا تَسْلُبْنِيهَا أَبَداً مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِي
ya mannanu mnun 'alayya bil-'afiyati fid-dunya wal-akhirah wa la taslubniha abadam ma abqaytani
O Bestower of Blessings! Favor me with well-being in this world and the Hereafter, and never strip it from me for as long as You keep me alive.
يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ اغْفِرْ لِي بِجَلَالِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ مَغْفِرَةً بِهَا تُحِلُّ عَنِّي قُيُودَ ذُنُوبِي وَ تَغْفِرُ لِي سَيِّئَاتِي إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
ya dhal jalali wal-ikrami ghfir li bijalalika wa karamika maghfiratam biha tuhillu 'anni quyuda dhunubi wa taghfiru li sayyi'ati innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir
O Lord of Majesty and Honor! Forgive me by Your majesty and Your generosity—a forgiveness by which the bonds of my sins are undone, and forgive my bad deeds; verily, You have power over all things.
يَا جَوَادُ أَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ الْكَرِيمُ الَّذِي لَا تَبْخَلُ وَ الْمُعْطِي الَّذِي لَا تَنْكُلُ فَجُدْ عَلَيَّ بِكَرَمِكَ وَ اجْعَلْنِي شَاكِراً لِإِنْعَامِكَ
ya jawadu antal jawadul karimulladhi la tabkhalu wal-mu'tiylladhi la tankulu fajud 'alayya bikaramatika waj'alni shakiral li-in'amik
O Munificent! You are the Generous Who does not withhold, and the Giver Who does not draw back; so bestow upon me out of Your generosity and make me grateful for Your bounties.
يَا قَوِيُّ خَلَقْتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَ مَا فِيهِمَا وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ بِغَيْرِ نَصَبٍ وَ لَا لُغُوبٍ فَقَوِّنِي عَلَى أَمْرِي بِقُوَّتِكَ
ya qawiyyu khalaqtas-samawati wa ma fil-ardi wa ma baynahuma wa ma fihuma wahdaka la sharika laka bighayri nasabiw wa la lughubin faqawwini 'ala amri biquwwatik
O Strong! You created the heavens, what is in the earth, what is between them, and what is within them alone without any partner, without any fatigue or weariness; so strengthen me in my affairs with Your strength.
يَا شَدِيدُ اشْدُدْ أَزْرِي وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى أَمْرِي وَ كُنْ لِي مِنْ كُلِّ حَاجَةٍ قَاضِياً
ya shadidu shdud azri wa a'inni 'ala amri wa kulli min kulli hajatin qadiya
O Stern! Strengthen my back, assist me in my affairs, and be the fulfiller of my every need.
يَا غَالِبُ غَلَبْتَ كُلَّ غَلَّابٍ بِقُدْرَتِكَ فَاغْلِبْ بَالِي وَ هَوَايَ حَتَّى تَرُدَّهُمَا إِلَى طَاعَتِكَ وَ اغْلِبْ بِعِزَّتِكَ مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ وَ رَامَ حَرْبِي
ya ghalibu ghalabta kulla ghallabim biqudratika faghlib bali wa hawaya hatta taruddahuma ila ta'atika waghlib bi-'izzatika mam bagha 'alayya wa rama harbi
O Overcoming! You overcame every conqueror by Your power; so overcome my anxieties and my desires until You direct them both to Your obedience, and overcome by Your might anyone who oppresses me or seeks to wage war against me.
يَا دَيَّانُ أَنْتَ تَحْشُرُ الْخَلْقَ وَ عَلَيْكَ الْعَرْضُ وَ كُلٌّ يَدِينُ لَكَ وَ يُقِرُّ لَكَ بِالرُّبُوبِيَّةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ بِعِزَّتِكَ
ya dayyanu anta tahshurul khalqa wa 'alaykal 'ardu wa kulluy yadinu laka wa yuqirru laka bir-rububiyyati faghfir liyadh-dhunuba bi-'izzatika
O Judge of Recompense! You shall gather creation, before You is the presentation, everyone is subject to You and confesses to Your Lordship; so forgive me my sins by Your majesty.
يَا ذَكُورُ اذْكُرْنِي فِي الْأَوَّلِينَ وَ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ تَقْسِمُهُ
ya dhakuru dhkurni fil-awwalina wash-shuhada'i was-salihina wa 'inda kulli khayrin taqsimuh
O He who remembers! Remember me among the foremost, the martyrs, and the righteous, and at every good thing You allocate.
يَا خَفِيُّ أَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ وَ أَخْفى وَ هُوَ ظَاهِرٌ عِنْدَكَ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا خَفِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَمْرِي وَ لَا تَهْتِكْنِي يَوْمَ الْقِ
ya khafiyyu anta ta'lamus-sirra wa akhfa wa huwa zahirun 'indaka faghfir li ma khafiya 'alannasi min amri wa la tahtikni yawmal qi-
O Hidden! You know the secret and what is yet more hidden, and it is manifest to You; so forgive me what is hidden from the people concerning my affairs, and do not disgrace me on the Day—
يَامَةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْأَشْهَادِ
-yamati 'ala ru'usil ashhad
—of Resurrection at the head of all witnesses.
يَا جَلِيلُ جَلَلْتَ عَنِ الْأَشْيَاءِ فَكُلُّهَا صَغِيرَةٌ عِنْدَكَ فَأَعْطِنِي مِنْ جَلَائِلِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي [مِنْ] فَضْلِكَ
ya jalilu jalalta 'anil ashya'i fakulluha saghiratun 'indaka fa-a'tini min jala'ili ni'matika wa la tahrimni fadlik
O Majestic! You are greater than all things, and all of them are small before You; so grant me from Your majestic blessings and do not deprive me of Your grace.
يَا مُنْقِذُ أَنْقِذْنِي مِنَ الْهَلَاكِ وَ اكْشِفْ عَنِّي غَمَّاءَ الضَّلَالاتِ وَ خَلِّصْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ مُوبِقَةٍ وَ فَرِّجْ عَنِّي كُلَّ مُلِمَّةٍ
ya munqidhu anqidhni minal halaki wakshif 'anni ghamma'ad-dalalati wa khallisni min kulli mubiqatiw wa farrij 'anni kulla mulimmah
O Rescuer! Save me from destruction, remove from me the darkness of deviations, deliver me from every ruinous sin, and relieve me from every misfortune.
يَا رَفِيعُ ارْتَفَعْتَ عَنْ أَنْ يَبْلُغَكَ وَصْفٌ أَوْ يُدْرِكَكَ نَعْتٌ أَوْ يُقَاسَ بِكَ قِ
ya rafi'u rtafa'ta 'an ay yablughaka wasfun aw yudrikaka na'tun aw yuqasa bika qi-
O High! You are too Exalted for any description to reach You, or any characterization to comprehend You, or any analogy—
يَاسٌ فَارْفَعْنِي فِي عِلِّيِّينَيَا قَابِضُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ فِي قَبْضَتِكَ مُحِيطٌ بِهِ قُدْرَتُكَ فَاجْعَلْنِي فِي ضَمَانِكَ وَ حِفْظِكَ [وَ لَا تَقْبِضْ] يَدَيَّ عَنْ [كُلِ] خَيْرٍ أَفْعَلُهُ
-yasun farfa'ni fi 'illiyyina ya qabidu kullu shay'in fi qabdatika muhitun bihi qudratuka faj'alni fi damanika wa hifzika yadayya 'an khayrin af'aluhu
—to be compared to You; so raise me into the highest heights. O Constrictor! Everything is within Your grasp, encompassed by Your power; so place me under Your guarantee and protection, and do not hold back my hands from doing good.
يَا بَاسِطُ ابْسُطْ يَدَيَّ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ وَ أَعْطِنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ أَعْلَى الدَّرَجَاتِ
ya basitu bsut yadayya bil-khayrati wa a'tini biqudratika a'lad-darajat
O Expander! Expand my hands with good deeds, and grant me by Your power the highest ranks.
يَا وَاسِعُ وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَ عِلْماً فَوَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ فِي رِزْقِي
ya wasi'u wasi'ta kulla shay'ir rahmataw wa 'ilman fawassi' 'alayya fi rizqi
O All-Encompassing! Your Mercy and Knowledge have encompassed everything; so expand my sustenance for me.
يَا شَفِيقُ أَشْفَقُ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَ أُمَّهَاتِهِمْ وَ أَرْأَفُ بِهِمْ فَاجْعَلْنِي شَفِيقاً رَفِيقاً وَ كُنْ بِي شَفِيقاً رَفِيقاً بِرَحْمَتِكَ
ya shafiqu ashfaqu 'ala khalqika min aba'ihim wa ummahatihim wa ar'afu bihim faj'alni shafiqar rafiqaw wa kumbishafiqar rafiqam birahmatik
O Compassionate Companion! You are more compassionate to Your creation than their fathers and mothers, and more affectionate with them; so make me compassionate and gentle, and be compassionate and gentle with me by Your Mercy.
يَا رَفِيقٌ ارْفُقْ بِي إِذَا أَخْطَأْتُ وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنِّي إِذَا أَسَأْتُ وَ أْمُرْ مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ وَ أَعْوَانَهُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ أَنْ يَرْفَقُوا بِرُوحِي إِذَا أَخْرَجُوهَا عَنْ جَسَدِي وَ لَا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِالنَّارِ
ya rafiqu rfuq bi idha akhta'tu wa tajawaz 'anni idha asat wa'mur malakal mawti wa a'wanahu 'alayhimus-salamu ay yarfuqu biruhi idha akhrajuha 'an jasadi wa la tu'adhibni bin-nar
O Gentle Companion! Be gentle with me if I mistake, overlook it if I do wrong, and command the Angel of Death and his assistants (peace be upon them) to be gentle with my spirit when they take it from my body, and do not punish me with the Fire.
يَا مُنْشِئُ أَنْشَأْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ كَمَا أَرَدْتَ وَ خَلَقْتَ مَا أَحْيَيْتَ فَبِتِلْكَ الْقُدْرَةِ
ya munshi'u ansha'ta kulla shay'an kama aradta wa khalaqta ma ahyayta fabitilkal qudrah
O Producer! You produced everything as You willed, and created what You brought to life; so by that power—
أَنْشِئْنِي سَعِيداً مَسْعُوداً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ أَنْشِئْ ذُرِّيَّتِي وَ مَا ذَرَعْتَ وَ بَذَرْتَ فِي أَرْضِكَ وَ أَنْشِئْ مَعَاشِي وَ رِزْقِي وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِمَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ
anshi'ni sa'idan mas'udan fid-dunya wal-akhirah wa anshi' dhurriyyati wa ma dhara'ta wa badharta fi ardika wa anshi' ma'ashi wa rizqi wa barik li fihima birahmatik
—produce me happy and prosperous in this world and the Hereafter, and produce my offspring and whatever I cultivate and plant in Your earth, and produce my livelihood and sustenance, and bless them both for me by Your Mercy.
يَا بَدِيعُ أَنْتَ بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ مُبْدِعُهُمَا وَ لَيْسَ لَكَ شبه [شَبِيهٌ] وَ لَا يَلْحَقُكَ وَصْفٌ وَ لَا يُحِيطُ بِكَ فَهْمٌ
ya badi'u anta badi'us-samawati wal-ardi wa mubdi'uhuma wa laysa laka shabihuw wa la yalhaquka wasfun wa la yuhitu bika fahm
O Innovator! You are the Innovator of the heavens and the earth and their Creator; there is none like unto You, no description can attain You, and no understanding can encompass You.
يَا مَنِيعُ لَا تَمْنَعْنِي مَا أَطْلُبُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ فَضْلِكَ وَ امْنَعْ عَنِّي كُلَّ مَحْذُورٍ وَ مَخُوفٍ
ya mani'u la tamna'ni ma atlubu mir rahmatika wa fadlika wamna' 'anni kulla mahdhuriw wa makhuf
O Inaccessible! Do not withhold from me what I demand of Your Mercy and grace, and fend off from me every danger and fear.
يَا تَوَّابُ اقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي وَ ارْحَمْ عَبْرَتِي وَ اصْفَحْ عَنْ خَطِيئَتِي وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي ثَوَابَ عَمَلِي
ya tawwabu qbal tawbati warham 'abrati wasfah 'an khati'ati wa la tahrimni thawaba 'amali
O Acceptor of Repentance! Accept my repentance, have mercy on my tears, pardon my mistakes, and do not deprive me of the reward of my deeds.
يَا قَرِيبُ قَرِّبْنِي مِنْ جِوَارِكَ وَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي حِفْظِكَ وَ كَنَفِكَ وَ لَا تُبْعِدْنِي عَنْكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
ya qaribu qarribni min jiwarika waj'alni fi hifzika wa kafanika wa la tub'idni 'anka birahmatik
O Near! Bring me close to Your proximity, place me under Your protection and care, and do not distance me from You, by Your Mercy.
يَا مُجِيبُ أَجِبْ دُعَائِي وَ تَقَبَّلْهُ مِنِّي وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي الثَّوَابَ كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي
ya mujibu ajib du'a'i wa taqabbalhu minni wa la tahrimni-thawaba kama wa'adtani
O Responder! Respond to my supplication, accept it from me, and do not deprive me of the reward, just as You promised me.
يَا مُنْعِمُ بَدَأْتَ بِالنِّعَمِ قَبْلَ اسْتِحْقَاقِهَا وَ قَبْلَ السُّؤَالِ بِهَا فَكَذَلِكَ إِتْمَامُهَا بِالْكَمَالِ وَ الزِّ يَادَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
ya mun'imu bada'ta bin-ni'ami qablastihqaqiha wa qablas-su'ali biha fakadhālika itmamuha bil-kamali waz-ziyadati min fadlik
O Bestower of Bounties! You initiated blessings before they were deserved and before they were asked for; so likewise, complete them with perfection and increase from Your grace.
يَا ذَا الْإِفْضَالِ [ذَا الْفَضْلِ]
ya dhal ifdal
O Possessor of Favor!
يَا مُفْضِلُ لَوْ لَا فَضْلُكَ هَلَكْنَا فَلَا تُقَصِّرْ عَنَّا فَضْلَكَ
ya mufdilu law la fadluka halakna fala tuqassir 'anna fadlak
O Granter of Favor! Were it not for Your grace we would have been destroyed, so do not withhold Your grace from us.
يَا مَنَّانُ فَامْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِالدَّوَامِ يَا ذَا الْإِحْسَانِ
ya mannanu famnun 'alayna bid-dawami ya dhal ihsan
O Bestower! Favor us with permanence, O Possessor of Beneficence!
يَا مَعْرُوفٌ بِعِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ وَ الْكَرَمِ وَ الْجُودِ أَنْتَ الْمَعْرُوفُ الَّذِي لَا تَجْهَلُ وَ مَعْرُوفُكَ ظَاهِرٌ لَا يُنْكَلُ فَلَا تَسْلُبْنَا مَا أَوْعَدْتَنَاهُ مِنْ مَعْرُوفِكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا خَبِيرُ خَبَرْتَ الْأَشْ يَاءَ قَبْلَ كَوْنِهَا
ya ma'rufum bi-'ilmil ghaybi wal-karami wal-judi antal ma'rufulladhi la tajhalu wa ma'rufuka zahirul la yunkalu fala taslubna ma aw'adtanahu mim ma'rufika birahmatika ya khabiru khabartal ash-ya'a qabla kawnihā
O One known for knowledge of the unseen, for generosity, and for benevolence! You are the Known Who is never unknown, and Your kindness is apparent and never held back; so do not strip from us what You promised us of Your kindness, by Your Mercy. O All-Aware! You knew about things before their existence—
وَ خَلَقْتَهَا عَلَى عِلْمٍ مِنْكَ بِهَا فَأَنْتَ أَوَّلُهَا وَ آخِرُهَا فَزِدْنِي خَيْراً بِمَا أَلْهَمْتَنِيهِ وَ مِنْ شُكْرِكَ بَصِيرَةً يَا خَبِيرُ
wa khalaqtaha 'ala 'ilmim minka biha fa-anta awwaluha wa akhiruha fazidni khayram bima alhamtanihi wa min shukrika basiratan ya khabir
—and created them based on Your knowledge of them; so You are their beginning and their end. Thus, increase me in good through what You inspire me with, and give me insight in thanking You, O All-Aware.
يَا مُعْطِي أَعْطِنِي مِنْ جَلِيلِ عَطَائِكَ وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِي قَضَائِكَ وَ أَسْكِنِّي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي جِوَارِكَ
ya mu'ti a'tini min jalili 'ata'ika wa barik li fi qada'ika wa askinni birahmatika fi jiwarik
O Giver! Grant me from Your majestic gifts, bless what You destine for me, and by Your Mercy let me reside close to You.
يَا مُعِينُ أَعِنِّي عَلَى أُمُورِ الدُّنْ
ya mu'inu a'inni 'ala umurid-dun-
O Helper! Assist me with Your power over the affairs of this world—
يَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ بِقُوَّتِكَ وَ لَا تَكِلْنِي فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَى غَيْرِكَ
-ya wal-akhirah biquwwatika wa la takilni fi shay'in ila ghayrik
—and the Hereafter, and do not entrust me in anything to anyone other than You.
يَا سَتَّارُ اسْتُرْ عُيُوبِي وَ اغْفِرْ ذُنُوبِي وَ احْفَظْنِي فِي مَشْهَدِي وَ مَغِيبِي
ya sattaru stur 'uyubi waghfir dhunubi wahfazni fi mashhadi wa maghibi
O Concealer! Cover up my faults, forgive my sins, and safeguard me in my presence and my absence.
يَا شَهِيدُ أُشْهِدُكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ جَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ وَ مَلَائِكَتِكَ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ فَاكْتُبْ هَذِهِ الشَّهَادَةَ عِنْدَكَ وَ نَجِّنِي بِهَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ
ya shahidu ushhidukallahumma wa jami'a khalqika wa mala'ikatika annahu la ilaha illa anta wahdaka la sharika laka faktub hadhihish-shahadata 'indaka wa najjini biha min 'adhabik
O Witness! I take You, O God, and all Your creation and angels as a witness that there is no god but You alone, without partner; so record this testimony with You and save me from Your punishment through it.
يَا فَاطِرُ أَنْتَ فَاطِرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَ مَا فِيهِمَا فَكُنْ لِي فِي الدُّنْ
ya fatiru anta fatirus-samawati wal-ardi wa ma baynahuma wa ma fihuma fakulli fid-dun-
O Originator! You are the Originator of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and within them; so be there for me in this world—
يَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِماً وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
-ya wal-akhirah wa tawaffani muslimaw wa alhiqni bis-salihin
—and the Hereafter, let me die as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous.
يَا مُرْشِدُ أَرْشِدْنِي إِلَى الْخَيْرِ بِعِزَّتِكَ وَ جَنِّبْنِي السَّيِّئَاتِ بِعِصْمَتِكَ وَ لَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
ya murshidu arshidni ilal khayri bi-'izzatika wa jannibnis-sayyi'ati bi-'ismatika wa la tukhzini yawmal qiyamah
O Guide! Guide me toward good by Your might, save me from evil deeds through Your protection, and do not disgrace me on the Resurrection Day.
يَا سَيِّدَ السَّادَاتِ وَ مَوْلَى الْمَوَالِي إِلَيْكَ مَصِيرُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيَّ بِعَيْنِ عَفْوِكَ
ya sayyidas-sadati wa mawlal mawali ilayka masiru kulli shay'in fanzur ilayya bi-'ayni 'afwik
O Master of masters! O Guardian of guardians! To You is the return of all things; so look at me with Your eyes of pardon.
يَا سَيِّدُ أَنْتَ سَيِّدِي وَ عِمَادِي وَ مُعْتَمَدِي وَ ذُخْرِي وَ ذَخِيرَتِي وَ كَهْفِي فَلَا تَخْذُلْنِي
ya sayyidu anta sayyidi wa 'imadi wa mu'tamadi wa dhukhri wa dhakhirati wa kahfi fala takhdhulni
O Master! You are my Master, my Support, my Reliance, my Savings, my Supply, and my Refuge; so do not leave me helpless.
يَا مُحِيطُ أَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمُكَ وَ وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَتُكَ فَاجْعَلْنِي فِي ضَمَانِكَ وَ حُطْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ بِقُدْرَتِكَ
ya muhitu ahata bikulli shay'in 'ilmuka wa wasi'at kulla shay'ir rahmatuka faj'alni fi damanika wa hutni min kulli su'im biquwwatik
O All-Encompassing! Your knowledge has encompassed everything, and Your Mercy has extended to everything; so place me under Your guarantee and protect me from all evil by Your power.
يَا مُجِيرُ أَجِرْنِي مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَ آمِنِّي مِنْ عَذَابِكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي خَائِفٌ وَ إِنِّي مُسْتَجِيرٌ بِكَ فَأَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
ya mujiru ajirni min 'iqabika wa aminni min 'adhabik allahumma inni kha'ifuw wa inni mustajirumbika fa-ajirni minan-nari birahmatik
O Protector! Protect me from Your punishment and make me immune to Your chastisement; O God, I am fearful and seeking shelter with You, so protect me from the Fire by Your Mercy.
يَا أَهْلَ التَّقْوَى وَ أَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
ya ahlat-taqwa wa ahlal maghfirah
O Lord of Righteousness and Lord of Forgiveness!
يَا عَدْلُ أَنْتَ أَعْدَلُ الْحَاكِمِينَ وَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ فَالْطُفْ لَنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ آتِنَا شَيْئاً بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَ وَفِّقْنَا لِطَاعَتِكَ وَ لَا تَبْتَلِنَا بِمَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَ خَلِّصْنَا مِنْ مَظَالِمِ الْعِبَادِ وَ أَجِرْنَا مِنْ ظُلْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ وَ غَشْمِ الْغَاشِمِينَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ اسْمَعْ دُعَائِي وَ اقْبَلْ ثَنَائِي وَ عَجِّلْ إِجَابَتِي وَ آتِنِي فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى خِيَرَتِهِ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.
ya 'adlu anta a'dalul hakimina wa arhamur-rahimina faltuf lana birahmatika wa atina shay'am biqudratika wa waffiqna lita'atika wa la tabtalina bima la taqata lana bihi wa khallisna min mazalimil 'ibadi wa ajirna min zulmiz-zalimina wa ghashmil ghashimina biqudratika innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir allahumma sma' du'a'i wa qbal thana'i wa 'ajjil ijabati wa atini fid-dunya hasanataw wa fil-akhirati hasanataw wa qini birahmatika 'adhaban-nari wa sallallahu 'ala khiyaratihi min khalqihi wa 'itratihit-tahirin
O Just! You are the most just of judges and the most merciful of the merciful; so be kind to us with Your Mercy, grant us something by Your power, grant us success in obeying You, do not burden us with what we have no strength to bear, deliver us from the violations against Your servants, and protect us from the oppression of the oppressors and the tyranny of the tyrants by Your power. Verily, You have power over all things. O God, hear my prayer, accept my praise, hasten the fulfillment of my prayers, and grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us by Your Mercy from the torment of the Fire. And may God bestow blessings on the best chosen one of His creatures and his pure Progeny.

The Event of Mubahala on 24th Dhu’l-Hijjah is a key event in Islamic history in which Prophet Muhammad (SA) and Christian delegations from Najran met in order to do mubahala (imprecation-a confrontation where God’s curse is invoked on whichever side holds false beliefs) to reveal who is truthful and who is lying about their religious differences concerning divinity and monotheism.
The Christians accepted the challenge, however, on the day they had agreed upon earlier, they refused to proceed with imprecation since they saw that the Prophet (s) came with closest and purest members of his family, ONLY 4 of them; who were his daughter, Fatima al-Zahra (as), his son-in-law, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), his grandsons, Hasan (as) and Hussain (as) , who represented the ‘women’, ‘self’, and ‘sons’ of the Holy Prophet (sa).
This event marked a great victory for Islam and highlighted the exceptional position of Ahlul-Bayt (AS), as relayed in the Quran verse 3:61. “To those that argue with you concerning Jesus after the knowledge you have received say: ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. We will pray together and call down the curse of Allah on every liar’.”
